SOAPBOX:

WH6LE - I threw in the towel after 45 minutes. Was it band conditions, my ears, or my antenna? Or 160 m band? Nevertheless - fun...sort of. 72 to all !Pete

WB0PYF - Only had one hour, next year we should start later in the evening, maybe start at 0330z. Better prop on 160m. 72, Ray

KE8DI - Although I have been a regular at the NAQCC sprints, this was my first 160M sprint. Just got the inverted L up a little over a month ago and had fun in the ARRL 160M, the Stew Perry and now this. What\'s this I hear about top band disease??? Conditions were fair here. Worked a little over 1 hour.

WA2EDN - First time with a Bug. Thanks to those that put up with my sending. had a s9 noise so most sigs were s7 and hard to hear. A ton of fun albeit I could not work whole event.

NS8Q - This was the first time I operated 160m. Conditions were actually quite good. I had a great time and look forward to more sprints in the future.

K3WWP - Usually our 160M sprints are later in the month after our regular sprint and right before the CQWW 160M contest. So that threw me this month having it so early and I forgot about it until the logs started coming in, so I only got on during the last 15 minutes. Just as well, as my noise was worse than usual. The only station I heard was W1AW with their code practice. Oh well, at least I participated even though I didn\'t connect with anyone, so my record of never having missed a single NAQCC sprint continues. Hopefully things will be better for our regular sprint this month. 80M has been pretty good here lately and a lot of signals are overriding my noise. Also 40M had short skip a couple nights lately.

KN1H - Great to hear so many regulars on Top Band. Unfortunately lost a couple in the noise, sorry! Used IC-7200 at 5W and Nye Viking Master Key.

N4MJ - First effort at the 160 Sprint. One Q. Heard others working what appeared to be a straight key contest. Texas to Maryland QSO. Not likely QRP. Wish more would have participated... 73 de n4mj

WB8YYY - wow nice event with decent participation. heard a few stations I could not pull out of S2-3 QRN due to rain here.

WV8P - Definitely enjoyed the sprint. THANX to all that heard me. 72 & GL Dave WV8P

W2JEK - Got on late. Only 3 QSO. Rig FT-840 at 5W to 110 ft end fed wire. SPEEDX key. 72 and 73 Don Younger W2JEK # 1135

W1FMR - Nice 160m contest. Thanks ! Got a late start and snow static but did great for a hidden condo wire and very surprised to get Chuck K9FO in IL. 72 Jim / W1FMR

AB1VL - Started calling CQ NA on 1.820 but got bumped up to 1.821 after an hour. Watched my signal from skimmers via ve7cc and saw strength swing wildly. Took a tour down band after 02:30 but only picked up one Q. Went back to 1821 and got two more, then went back down band and got one final. Gave up at 03:00 when snow static and crashes hit steady S9. Worked all I heard. Good fun for a few hours. We should probably start later on top band. Thanks to organizers for all that you do!

W4DUK - Got started late (I had forgotten about it) and finished early. Called CQ numerous times with no replies. Heard two stations calling CQ and worked them both. A fairly simple Sprint this time. At least I matched my score from last year, and picked up one new contact for the Friendship Club

K4JPN - Running 4W into a 80M Zepp fed as a TEE at 32 feet, makes QSOs hard. Thanks for N9SE who pulled me out. 72, Steve K4JPN

N5GW - KX3, J38 and \"T\" 160\' semivertical antenna at 75\'. I was using a new antenna for 160, taller and longer than my CFZ. Also I added 16 50\' radials to the metal roof ground of the carport. I took turns listening on the T and on a small resonant vertical loop on the end of 200\' of RG-174 aided by a preamp. At first the band sounded to be in excellent shape, with low noise and little QRN. Unfortunately, there were only a few mostly weak signals to be heard on either rx antenna. I am guessing that ionospheric absorption was great - that could explain the unusually quiet band. Otherwise it\'s back to the antenna drawing board. K9FO had a good signal, but he and a few other ops could never hear me. I don\'t feel too sorry for myself, because it\'s the ops on the west coast or far away from densely populated areas that are disadvantaged on 160M.

AA0W - Deep and slow QSB made copy difficult.

K1SX - After tuning up I heard no CW, so I started WSJTx out of curiosity. Right off I worked WP4JCF for my 1st JT65 qso on 160. That was more than I expected from the low antenna, but things were tougher in the sprint. W2SH very loud. Heard not worked: N9SE, WV8P, N3QE, VE2DQN.

W2SH - The unending proliferation of cheap electric gadgetry raises the level of man-made QRM every time this 160m sprint occurs. My dipole performed about the same as the inverted L’s with its too-long horizontal leg. I hope to come up with some form of low-noise receiving antenna. That will be easier to implement than persuading noisy neighbors to modify their smart furnaces and smart TVs.

AC8AP - I called who I heard and called CQ but didn\'t get any in my log. Sure did try working a few but we just could not get everything needed. Oh well. I think I will put that 3 element 160 meter monobander up about 260 feet for next year and see how that works. I did hear some really good signals but just could not get one out I guess. Alan AC8AP

AA9L - Well, I tried! Much noise. Heard a lot of signals down in the weeds but could not dig them out. 5 watts on 160 doesn\'t do it with a high noise level. However, I enjoyed the few contact I made. Rich

K9FO - Conditions not bad for this time of sunspots.Inv L goes up 45 feet and top part slopes up to 70 feet. 300 foot RX wire runs E and W, in woods with a 9/1 transformer. I hesitate to call it a beverage but it is better than the Inv L for RX. I was unable to repair my 3 beverage RX system or I may have caught a few of those vapor signals. Thanks for the Q\'s. 72, Will K9FO

WA2FBN - Noisy band tonight. Tnx to all who heard me through the noise. 73 Ken

AJ1DM - First top band sprint. Tnx AB1VL es W2SH for your patience. 72!!

AB8FJ - I was really looking forward to this sprint and even though I called and searched for the entire time, I was not able to get a single contact into the log from the Cincinnati area. Submitting this entry to show my support for the Sprints. Hopefully conditions will be improved for the regular sprint this month. Rig used was my K3/10 at 900mw.

AI5I - 160m QRP --- an exercise in masochism.
