SOAPBOX:
K4KBL - 20 meters folded early here in GA and 40 was better for awhile. Signals were overall weaker tonight and QSB was a factor as well. Still had a good time for the first hour.
K9NUD - Great to be back after a long absence! My end-fed came down earlier this year, and it took a while to put it back together. Nice to see some familiar calls along with a few new ones. Nearby T-Storms wiped things out early for me. KX3 @ 5W EFHW up 40' and a cootie
N0TA - 40m incredibly noisy!!
DK1VD - QSB and LOCAL QRM/QRN Tu 4 Contact
N2TNN - Started off with a bang and then fizzled out on 40 meters. Thanks for coming out and catch you next month.
KE3V - I enjoyed the sprint tonight. All my activity but one 80M contact was on 40M. See you next month. -72
K4KRW - Thanks everyone! 40m was it for me. I tried 80m but there wasn't anything there. 73
N3A/4 - Thanks to everyone for all the Q's! I stayed on 40M the whole time. I listened on 80m later in the sprint but didn't hear any activity. 40M was pretty noisy tonight. Fun to use the N3A/4 call 72, WD4CFN
K2OID - Several N3A stations on tonight. 40M was excellent until about 0150 until it went completely dead. Went to 80 and that was dead as well. Still fun though.
N8HWV - Lotta noise. Thankful for each qso.
W4CMG - Later than planned start, but better conditions that expected.
NA4O - Now that was some challenging band conditions! Nothing here on 80 or 20 and very few very faint signals in the noise - except for Mark, WB9HFK - on 40! I felt pleased with my 5 contacts from my KX3 and Vibroplex straight key. And it was nice to get N3A/4 and 8. Thanks all who persevered!
KC5F - Only one on 20m but a new member - Welcome W1UCF, #12510! 40m much better, including DK1VD and three non-members (potential new members!) giving their power as 5W - WA9CWE, N5WE and KE8ZLT. 80m was noisy and seemed like it would be a bust, but had 6 there after 0200z. Lots of fun - thanks, all! - Steve
N2DGQ - Didn't hear very many OP's tonight.
NX1K - QSB and QRN made it a challenge tonight, but that's part of the fun, right?
NI4U - No joy on 20m tonight, but 40m was good even with the QRN. Was able to get two N3A stations in the log. 80m came alive for the last half hour and I was hunting right up until the end. Great sprint. See you on the air next month!
KN2G - Missed last month but made up for it this month. My goal is still to break 30 contacts from my qth. Even just once!!! Anyway, I did a lot more calling this contest as well as searching. Both worked very well for me. It is a pleasure to work each op. It is interesting that I can tell a few ops by the fist now.
K6GPB - Heard W0TA in CO but unable to make contact with him. Did make contact with N3A/5 in NM during the Sprint with 5W, but it was on 30 meters. Pleased to make this contact. 72 and Happy Halloween. K6GPB
WG8Y - Hi all.Started half an hour late. Busy day agn. Yard work then Just had to go play POTA in the park for a couple hours. HI HI. Just search and pounce tonite trying to catch up on 'Stuff'.
Still fun hearing some of the NAQCC bunch.
72 all from N.C. Mark WG8Y
K9QEW - STARTED ON 20M THEN QSY TO 40M
WA9CWE - My first NAQCC sprint. Wanted to see how it compared to SKCC events and K1USN-SST. Enjoyed it although band conditions to central Indiana were not good. I have applied for a membership number, so next month won't have to send a 5. 72, Steve
KN1H - Happy Birthday NAQCC! A fun sprint to celebrate with. The evening started here with a rare October thunderstorm passing right overhead, luckily it was moving pretty fast and the noise wasn't bad for too long. Thanks to Dan, N7YY out in OR for his patience as the noise took out the middle of his call several times before I got it. Best DX of the night.
72, John, KN1H
K3RLL - Nice evening with good participation. Propagation could have been better but it seemed better than it's been lately. Big signals booming into Florida tonight were KB1M and KC5F.
Thanks for the contacts.
72, ... Don
N9JFZ - Good start on 20, a lot of QSB on 40 and slow on 80 meters.
72 All
W1BRY - Much better this time around- had never worked 80 meters before!
VE3DQN - Pretty good signals for the short time I was on the air. Time greatly limited by thunder storms in the area.
KC3MIO - Got in just before halfway after coming back from local club meeting. I was negotiating for some last minute N3A sprint operators on my phone. Seems to have worked out. Keep it up through the rest of the anniversary, 73 Rich
K9FAA - The static crashes were a bitch. Still managed a couple QSO's with just 2 watts.
Gonna try 1 watt next sprint.
Thanks. It's a great challenge.
Fred K9FAA
W8GG - Hello Fellow Sprinters! Fired up the FTdx1200 to Modified 4BTV, for our anniversary. I used a Vibrokeyer to celebrate. 20M was closing early here in mid-Michigan, and i only managed 1 QSO there. 40 had plenty of signals , but high noise level as well. More fun to work em when you gotta WORK for em. Only had 1/2 hr to play , but lot of fun crammed into that 1/2 hr !!! Hard to believe that i've been a NAQCC member for over 20 yrs. We sure do have , and have had some very FB operators in our ranks. I have enjoyed playing radio wid this gang every month. 73 to all, es CU AGN next month. Gregg W8GG
N3CAA - Nice warm weather to operate from the backyard, but my equipment and the bands didn't cooperate. Broke my EFHW trying to set it up, so had to use the vertical antenna with a coil, which performs far worse than the EFHW on 40m. Coupled with QRN and QSB, I had a hard time making contacts. With only two in the bag after half an hour of operating, I threw in the towel. Better luck next month. 72, Corey
N1BIV - 20m was good until about 0130 then silent
W1UCF - My first NAQCC experience (thanks for shout-out, Steve, KC5F - you were my first NAQCC QSO!) with a new-for-me transceiver (TS-590). THANK YOU - I was only able to get on the air for 30 minutes, but listening and then responding to CQ NA... well, this is FUN! I look forward to many more QSOs!
N3A/8 - Started on 20m and RBN showed my signal getting out. Called CQ for 20 minutes but no takers. Rotated the dial a bit and found John/N0TA. Switched to 40m. Lots of noise and the QSB was both fast and deep. I'd get part of a callsign, then nothing! I had to ask for a lot of repeats for the rest of the sprint. Still, way too much fun! See you all next month with my regular call: K8NGW!
WA2FBN - Thunderstorms in area kept operating time short. 72 Ken
K4JPN - Heavy QRN at my QTH made it a challenge, wait till next month. 72 Steve K4JPN
KA2KGP - Poor band conditions here in WNY this sprint. 20m. was nil & 80m. was weak & noisy. 40m. was the best band here although it too was weak with QSB. Rig: IC-7000 at 5w. into a G5RV up 20 ft. w/ a straight key for QSO's & a memory keyer for CQ's. 73 to all.
VE3IIM - Missed last month...condx were poor here on 20m..'Will be back..
AK3X - Couldn't get on until the last 15 minutes of the sprint. 40 meters was a mess so dropped to 80 and found a few contacts.
WD9EGW - I enjoyed the evening of low power CW. 20 seemed noisy. I had better luck on 40. Thanks to all for the contacts. See you next month. I was operating from Osage Beach, MO, this time.
72, Chuck
WX4RM - High levels of QRN and a good amount of QSB made for a difficult night. I hope it wasn't just my antenna. Happy Anniversary NAQCC, had fun as always.
N3A/1 - First sprint ever, only one hour
KK4ITX - Cone of silence down here, seems when the sun goes down it takes the propagation with it!!
NF8M - Op time about 20 min. Nice turnout for the anniversary sprint. 72 all!
N5GW - Bands a bit noisy due to passing cold front, but generally fair conditions.
