SOAPBOX:
K3WWP - Just got on for my usual one sprint QSO to participate and worked K4KBL, but then heard K4BAI and gave John an extra QSO. Now off to March Madness.
N2CN - My first sprint in a while. Lots of noise, but also lots of stations heard.
K3RLL - 20m was hot at the opening bell, but went away quickly. 40m was too noisy to operate here in FL tonight. Solar Flare came true, I guess. 72, Don
N1BRI - thanks for another good one. 72
W4HH - Lots of activity on 40, gud sigs, c u next month!!
WG8Y - Hi all, Long day today. Was only on 20M on and off during the 1st hour.
Called a couple times and faintly heard W6???. After a couple tries he came up a little. It was Gary, W6IRA in CA. We were both 449 but we made the contact. That was a fun contact. 73 to you Gary. Pulled the plug early.
Hope everyone had a good Sprint.
72 from N.C. Mark WG8Y
KN2G - I dawdled on 20 because I heard a WA station.... never got it.... However I was happy to get UT and WY as well as 2 doubles. One day I hope to get a hat trick! Quit a bit early as my eyes were getting squinty. Belated St Patrick's Day and Happy Easter to all.
AB4QL - Good band conditions wish I could have stayed longer.
Barry
KC5F - Only 25 minutes this month due to a late meeting, but had to get a few contacts in. Pretty high QRN tonight, but lots of fun, as usual!
NQ2W - Little late getting started and had to quit early. A few QSOs on 20m and then some more on 40m. 40 had some QRN. Surprised to have DK1VD, Fred, call me on 40. Glad we were able to complete the QSO. Thanks for the contacts and hope to hear you in the next one. 72, Will, NQ2W
K3JZD - Seemed like it was difficult this evening. Maybe conditions. Maybe my using an indoor magnetic loop antenna made it difficult. IC-7300 @ 5w. 73, Jody-K3JZD
N4MJ - sHORT NIGHT FOR YT. TNX TO ALL FOR PARTICIPATING.
73 AND HAPPY EASTER
N4MJ//GLENN
K4KBL - Worked John K3WWP first contact this evening, it was my pleasure indeed !! All time best tonight with 20 and 40 meters contacts. Nice to work old friends and many new calls as well. Even was able to work our president KK4ITX, thanks John.
KC3RN - 40 was the money band tonight. Not much heard on 20, and my noise level was too high on 80. Still had a good night.
KN1H - Had a fun time in the Sprint tonight, warm and snug in the shack while wild snow squalls were raging outside. Happy Spring everyone! 72, John, KN1H
K1IX - REALLY GOOD NIGHT PLENTY OF ACTIVITY AND GOOD BAND CNDX WRKD KY FOR FIRST TIME QRP
TNX FOR THE Q's CUAGN
K9NUD - Wow, great signals on 20 and 40. 80 was a bit noisy and I could pull one out of it (sorry, OM!). Thanks for all the great contacts. KX3 @ 5w using a cootie and an EFHW up 40'
AA2MX - thanks for a great sprint, 40m was the place to be tonight.
Bill
KK4ITX - QSB and QRM messed up a good for me tonight. I missed WT4U, AB9CA, KC5F AND K4BAI after I heard their Call, the QSB and/or static would block any chance of a QSO. Fun anyway. See ya next month.
WT4U - 20m was in pretty good shape tonight, though I lost one QSO and barely hung on to another due to heavy QSB. I was tickled to work Andy N2CN on his attic dipole. 40 was busy, but the only station I heard on 80 was John K4BAI coming in strong from GA in the final minutes.
KO4NDP - My first NAQCC sprint. Had a blast, thanks all for working me. Looking forward to it again. There was one that got away, w2sh, I apologize you just faded out too much to copy though I know you really worked hard for it, and for me. I appreciate it and hope to catch you next time. 73s all, KO4NDP
K7EK - Great turnout this evening. I had a blast on 20m and 40m! Tried the OCFD for a change. Despite its low height, I worked many distant stations. I can't wait for the next sprint.
N2TNN - Very noisy bands and not many stations but fun as usual. Thank you all for the contacts.
KC9TQR - First NAQCC Sprint in quite a while. Really rusty but had a great time. Thank you, to all who worked me, for your patience. - See you next month.
K0LAR - I had a really good run going on 20 meters. Then my keyer decided to fly apart and I struggled to get it back together for the last 1/2 hour of the sprint. It was great fun! Thanks to all!
WB9HFK - Got a late start as I was playing the Flying Pig 20M event until 0100Z. Thanks for the QSO's and QRP Fun! 72, Mark WB9HFK
NF8M - Op time 1 hr. Nice condx on 20 and 40. No action on 80 in first hr.
WX4RM - Propagation seemed to be north and south tonight. Had fun as usual.
KF7Z - Great night to jump on for an hour, good signals into Wyoming tonight on 20 meters. Elecraft K3s running 5 watts to a dipole up 25 ft. 72 everybody
K8NGW - 20 & 40 seemed in good shape tonight and I spent an hour on each. The distance record for tonight was Ken/N7KM in Utah, 1571 miles west. Good fun! See you all next month!
N7QR - 80th Sprint 20 was good, 80 was all noise. CU next month! Russ PDX
K2OID - Best conditions ever on 40M for the first 90 minutes. Then the band died. Still great fun.
N7KM - I was all set to do the complete sprint then life got in the way! The bands 20 and 40 meters sounded ve3ry good. Heard some nice fists tonight. I enjoyed my brief time on the air and appreciate those who make this all happen. I was using my old K2 I build in 2001 with my old reliable OCF Dipole which just keeps working. tonight I was using a J-37 army key. fun evening.
KE5YUM - Couldn't stay long but I managed to work AA2MX on 40 meters. The band seemed noisy, but I hadn't been on 40 in quite a while. All the best, Terry FT 817 5watts CWMORSE straight key
KB2GKC - 20m band worked well tonight
W8GG - Hello fellow Sprinters! Fired up my FT 857 at 5 watts to the gnd mnt vertical. Gud condx last evening for our sprint. Started on 20m. It was full of peanut whistles and some FB signals too. 40m was a bit noisy but no lack of stations to work, went back to 20m fer a few more. Skip seemed short, no west coast heard. Good to hear several old friends. I didn't chase after QSOs last night. I listened alot and worked a more casual contest than i usually do. So relaxing, i was was falling asleep by 930pm. I think using a straight key helps keep me alert. I was using the ol' Vibroplex single lever. Bands were really going strong but fatigue won, and i hit the switch early. Hope to hear u all agn next time. 73 Gregg W8GG
WA1GWH - As usual I worked 40m only. Started out with not too much activity but got busy after 9 PM. I think the skip stretched out covering more states and ops. And I also started to notice some sort of broadcast racket. TU FER THE QSOs ES 72!
KA2KGP - Only 3 QSO's on 20m. & 80m. but 40m. was great! Lot's of "Snow Static" on 80m. Rig: IC-7000 at 5w. into G5RV up 25 ft. w/ straight key. 73 to all
K9QEW - QSOs on 20 and 40 meters. condx poor to fair. 72/73 Daryl
KD0FNR - We, (KO6BTY and I) got Project TouCans Wireless on the air for the sprint! I made two other QSOs, but since neither was a NAQCC member and I didn't get their power outputs, here we are :)
The rig was spotted in Northern Europe right at the end of the sprint. No QSOs out that direction last night, but it was pretty amazing just to be seen from out here in San Francisco.
One of the coolest aspects of the sprint was having a QSO with W0HG, who it turns out is just getting into CW!
Project TouCans was running wireless. We've got the audio noise issues just about worked out. Of course, that was just in time for the atmospheric noise to be high, hi hi.
As usual, had a blast with all of this!
I think there's another place to put the following on the site, but here's a video of our station last night
https://youtu.be/z2AulasuVcg?si=kX_nVv5u9nRco9x9
K4BAI - QSOs by band: 20M: 12. 40M: 32. 80M: 4. On 80M, I worked NH and CT from GA. A lot more QSOs on 80M will be possible if everyone will be QRV until the end of the two-hour sprint period and try 80M toward the end. Best "DX" on 40M was N7KM in UT. Thanks for all QSOs. Congrats to Jerry, K4KBL, for a great (and winning?) score. 73/72, John K4BAI.
KQ1P - Wind and snow and QRN made for some challenging copy. Fun, of course!
WB1GYZ - Unusually slim pickings on 80, otherwise well attended.
WB8ENE - Heard several strong signals on 40, which is where I spent all of my time. Thanks for the contacts. 73, Art
AA0W - 20 and 40 were active no station heard on 80m.
Thanks for the fun Sprint
NO2D - Guess DST means that 20 meters was open during the sprint more than it has been for much of the past few months. Thanks to all who make the sprints possible. Lots of fun. Pete, NO2D.
VE3SIF - Thanks for the contacts. Nice to get some contacts on 20 meters. I was using a KX2 and my new Bamatech tp-iii key. 72 Ron
VE3IIM - Fun as usual..Nice sigs here on 20 tonight...
KG0RD - All signals were very strong, however folks seemed to
leave early.
Thank you to all.
N5GW - Did not have much time available tonight, but as usual was fun hearing other QRPers.
W6IRA - NC was hard for both of us, but worth it!
KC3MIO - KX3 @ 5W into 125' doublet up 45', with Vizkey Camelback SK. I was tired and only intended to work the first hour, but couldn't resist hanging in till the bitter end. Cndx were reasonably good here in NE PA. Three contacts on 20 to start then turned to 40 which was good the rest of the time. 80 was the quietest band, but very little activity. Happy to work Fred, DK1VD and thanks for being patient until I realized he was coming from Deutschland. Also thanks to WU0A in CO - a tough copy but he hung in there. TNx as usual to my contacts and a fun two hours.
AK3X - Fun sprint. 20 meters died out early so down to 40 meters. Had the usual interruptions. 72 to all.
W2SH - A strong wind had taken down my principal antenna, a 270' center-fed dipole up 45'. As a result I only had the use of a 72' wire vertical hanging from a tree branch. 20m was nicely open for the first 45 minutes. 40m was busy and not very noisy. Nothing was heard on 80m.
