SOAPBOX:
W1BLU - Was looking forward to this sprint. Storms bypassed me all evening until the sprint started. TS rolling in. QRT for safety. Maybe next month? 72 all!
VE3DQN - So glad for summer months to be able to get some QSOs on 20m. Deep QSB on 20m tonight but was able to get AZ. Heard CA but he dropped right out.
AB9BZ - Thanks for the sprint and the contacts. 73 ab9bz
WB1GYZ - 40 was the workhorse band, as usual; though an hour was enough after a long day.
N0TA - 40m was rough!
K3RLL - Late start when main rig didn't want to come to life. (Looks like I have a job tomorrow!) Swapped out to my early K2. Forgot how nice that old radio is. 20m had a good crowd with some serious QSB but it seemed to empty out about 0100z. Found KC5F easily down on 40m to round out my 'Big Ten'. Hope hear you all on the mW Sprint next week.
Thanks for the contacts. 72/73 ... Don
WG8Y - HI all,Put in app an hour all on 20M. Had a long day so cut it short tonite. Great to still be hearing signals at 10PM here in NC on 20M. QRP to boot.
See everyone next week in the QRPp Sprint. Fun stuff.
72 from N.C. Mark WG8Y
K9NUD - I had to drop out early but it was a fun time tonight. 20M wasn't great but 40M made up for it. Thanks for the contacts!
NF8M - Quiet condx for a change. Just got back from the NA CW Weekend in VA in time to put in abt 30 min. Tnx qsos es 72 till next time.
AB4QL - Fun to jump back in for a while. Glad to see some new numbers tonight.
QSB was interesting!
I got to use my new Begli Sculpture Swing tonight, I think I like it!
Barry
AA5LH - Thanks to everyone's efforts tonight.Started on 20M w/7 Q's. First Sprint Canada stn for 2023, Robert-VA3KRJ & double entry w/Mark-WO7T. Finished up on 40M w/2Q's. Take Care & hope to see ya at M/W Sprint.
W0JMW - Decided to jump in after 2 months off the radio. As usual 40m was tough with a lot of QRN. Checked 80m late but didn't hear anything. Thanks everyone and look forward to the mW sprint. 73 Jeff
VA3KRJ - The NAQCC Sprint is always fun.
Conditions were pretty good tonight on 20 and 80m. 40m a bit noisy in my QTH. Thanks everyone for the QSO's.
KF7Z - Condx good tonight to the east coast from WY, worked 20 meters until things died off and thunderstorm rolled in. Thanks for the Qs and I will post to LOTW shortly.
72 Danny
NQ2W - As always, a load of fun! For the most part, signals were very good. A few times the 40m QRN stole a letter or two but all ops were happy to repeat. Thanks for the very enjoyable QRP evening! 72, Will, NQ2W
VA3NU - Stayed on 40M, lots of strong signals tonight with some static crashes at times. Always a fun event. 72
KN1H - Thanks to all for the fun sprint. Great activity and nice to have all 3 bands alive on the same night! IC-7300, Nye Viking Master Key. 72, John, KN1H
WA5RML - Elecraft KX3 @5 wts to a fan dipole hanging on my backyard fence.
Most interesting QSO was with Paul, WQ5X who is not a member, but was running QRP with a Yaesu FT-817nd to an antenna hanging on his backyard fence also! It turns out that Paul is a neighbor from a mile or two down the road. Maybe a future NAQCC member.
Thanks for the QSOs!
72, Andy - WA5RML
K1MZM - 80 was very noisy tonight but 40 seemed in pretty good shape. Trying out a new 265 foot EFHW antenna at 50 feet to see how it plays. My early impression is that the old 40 meter dipole at 40 feet works just as well.
Thanks for all the fun. Hope to see you next month.
K2CWM - Got in an hour late but still managed ten contacts. Used my old 1943 Lionel J38 str key. Always fun.
KC5F - Lots of static crashes, but 20m and 40m were good. Too much noise on 80m here in western NC. Didn't work a single NC or SC, but it was lots of fun, as usual. Thanks, all!
WO7T - Started out OK on 20M, but after that not much action even on other bands I checked. On 80M I netted Zip, on the KX3. Sorry for a few that called and called but I could not pick out of the noise level here. Thanks a lot for the NAQCC Sprint Logger program for AC2C. Wish we had an open 10M band to be having this sort of QRP fun.
KA6J - Conditions a little rough in So Central TX tonight. Used the x6100 and ground mounted vert. Thanks for the contacts!
NA4O - Noise not bad tonight, but sigs not far above it. 40M only. KX3 5W Vibroplex Straight Key, 41' EF@25'
N1BRI - I wasn't feeling too well earlier and I took some dayquil. Glad I did, a lot of fun tonight. Thanks to everyone and sorry to those I missed. Made it to WO7T AZ on 20m and saw i was getting out into France and Germany with my little hobbypcb iq32. 72
W4CMG - Fun Sprint - glad I finally got some time to "play" for the full 2 hours. Thanks for everyone's patience as I used my SK for the sprint. Slow, but more points :)
K3JZD - It was a dark and stormy night. Really. QRN and QSB. But, no lightening so I was able to keep going. Tried 20m at the start - no real activity there - but I was getting more RBN spots from Europe than from the US. 40m was humming. K4 dialed down to 4.9 watts. 107' EFRW on 20m and dipole on 40m. 72, Jody - K3JZD
KF6C - Great fun did not expect to make so many qsos.
KC3RN - Lots of static crashes here tonight, but still did okay. My first sprint with my (new to me) Argonaut 509. Very happy with the 509's performance.
W4NLT - Had a slow start on 20M then shifted to 40M where most of the action was. Thanks for the QSOs. 72 Andy
K2OID - 40M was fantastic for the first hour but died a bit in the second. Still, this was my highest score ever. Great fun as usual.
VE3IIM - 20 WAS DISAPPOINTING HERE..40 WAS MY BEST BAND. FUN AS USUAL!
K6GPB - Was able to participate for only a few minutes. Did hear KF6C in NY on 20 and he was able to get only a portion of my call. Tks fer the try. Maybe next time.
K9QEW - Good activity and all Qs on 40 meters. 72/73s & STAY TUNED
K8NGW - 20M had very deep fading ... I had to time my just right to make the contact! 40M had lots of noise and static crashes. I'll see all of you milliwatt'ers next week!
K4BAI - 20 and 40M in good condition, but lot of QRN on 40. 80M seemed OK, but heard no NA activity and got no answers to CQs there. By band: 18 QSOs on 20M and 25 QSOs on 40M. Activity dropped off toward the end. Many stations I HAD heard were no longer QRV. Only one QSO in last 21 minutes, but that was with W6WU in DE for a new multiplier. Thanks for all QSOs. 73/73, John, K4BAI.
KJ7KDB - Fun to try again this evening. I heard NQ2W from NY on 20 meters but could not complete a QSO. I sent my call sign multiple times but no luck. I tried calling CQ NA also, but nothing there either. Maybe next time. 73 Tim
WX4RM - Both 40 and 20 meters were active tonite, though QSB made headphones a necessity. Had fun as always.
W2JEK - Got on late. Had QSO with KA2KGP
WB8ENE - Listened on 20 early and 80 later on, but nothing heard on either of these bands, so I made all of my contacts on 40. Normally 40 has about an S7 noise level here, but for some reason it was only about S3 this time. Thanks for the contacts. 73, Art
W6WU - Operating from Camper in Delaware. Conditions on 20 were variable, on 40 had high background noise. Thanks for QSO's
KE5YUM - Rough band conditions in my area but I two great contacts, including DX to ON. 73s until next month. Terry
W8GG - Hello Fellow Sprinters! Fired up on solar power tonight @ 5 watts to trap dipoles @ 35 ft. Used my trusty E.F.Jhonson J-38 key. Good condx overall. 20 was open most of the sprint. I started out with 6 QSOs on 20, the went to 40. 40M was hot with activity. worked many new members last nite. Welcome aboard to all. Found Ol' pal Louis N8LA as well. Had a beeline into NY and CO and Ontario as well, 5 QSOs with NY, 4 with CO es 4 with ON. Had a nice little run on 40 at 930. then went to 80 to grab a few there. Had 2 fers with KA2KGP es W6WU. I had only intended on operating fer 1/2 hr but condx were gud es they just kept coming so went until 1012pm then pulled the plug. Enjoyed every minute of it! See u in the mw sprint next week. 73 Gregg W8GG
KK4ITX - QCX-Mini at 1.8w. Got off to a start on 20m after checking propagation with WSPR. Band was wide open frpm Alaska to just about everywhere in the U.S. and EU, but no QSOs.
K1IX - Great condx but had many local interuptions and had to quit early. Tnx for the Q's CUAGN, 73 Frank
WA2FBN - Used my Pentek TR35 on 40m. Band condx poor, only able to work first half hour of sprint. Tnx to all who keep these fun sprints going. 72 Ken - WA2FBN
KD3CA - Managed a bit more time for this Sprint, band was very QRN with QRM at times. Did manage to work station's on 3 bands. Thanks to all for the calls. 73's Don
WB9HFK - 40M for the entire 2 hours. QRN a bit higher than normal - so, sorry to anyone I could not pull out of the noise. Thanks for the Q's and see everyone next week for the mW event! 72, Mark WB9HFK
WT4U - A bit of fun on 20m working a few who were down in the noise, but didn't hear a whole lot on 40m. Stayed up too late for baseball game the night before and the little gray cells were a bit too tired to keep pulling them out. I'll rest up for mW next week.
WD4EX - First time back in quite awhile. 40 too noisy at my QTH. Had less than an hour to work, but had fun. Ussed KX3 at 5W to Shaded Skeleton Sleeve 20/40 Dipole at 30ft.
KA2KGP - The bands were OK this sprint, but 80m. was long & weak. Rig: IC-7000 at 5w. into a G5RV up 25 ft. w/ old German WWII Junkers Straight Key.
K4JPN - Tried 40M but QRN was rough, also tried 15M, but nothing heard. All stations worked were on 20M which seemed to go out around 0100Z, but later worked CO and CT on 20M. 72 Steve K4JPN
W4QDV - Had a really good time but challenging with the QRN due to storms in west Georgia. Met some fine operators on the air before having to QRT. We'll definitely be back next time. Thanks for the QSOs, friends!
73, Dave
W2SH - Lots of QRN on 40m and 80m. 20m was only briefly
open and its skip zone was not very long.
KB1M - The QRN won over my ears, felt that I was sending CQ to stations that I could not properly hear reply. TU for the QSO's. 72, Walt
K2ZC - I only operated the first 50 minutes of the sprint. I used a kit radio from QRP-Labs, the QCX running 4 watts to a 40m dipole up 30 feet. Thanks to all for the qso's. 72 Dave k2zc
KN2G - Thanks WT4U for working so hard to get me out of the mud so early in the sprint. I appreciate all of you who say "tu ken" Ufortunately I have not yet mastered the logging software. I have lost numerous logs trying to work the thing so I Can't give you the same courtesy yet.... 72's SEE YOU FOR THE MILLIWATT SPRINT!!!
AA0W - Conditions not the best 20M good 40M poor.
40 was difficult to hear stations thru the storm noise. Thanks for the fun sprint.
N5GW - Storms in the area but QRN not bad. Most sigs heard on 20 meters.
AK3X - Missed most of the first hour and had several interruptions as usual, but still a fun sprint. 40 meters only.
N8LA - KX-3; 5W; 200' Dipole @ 35'; NAQCCode Warrior with W8GG finger pieces wired as dual paddle side swiper by AD0BI. 20 noisy, but able to work 5 stations through the noise. 40 a bit better. Heard friend Gregg, W8GG, on 20, but unable to work him there. Luckily, was able to work him on 40. Glad this sprint occurred when it did. Gave me an excuse for avoiding attending perverted version of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night so that I could work the sprint on this month's thirteenth night. Thanks to all who worked me and I hope I didn't miss anyone who tried to work me. I hope we can get together next time.
Best 72/73,
Lou, N8LA
