SOAPBOX:

K2PMD - First-time participant; very cool. I even got a couple of fellow club members from the Skyview Radio Society. de K2PMD

KC2MJT - Nice cndx

W1ZU - Was able to hop on for an hour tonight. Always good fun. Thanks all

KI4DEF - Great to hear so many signals on 40m! I was rockbound on 7038 kHz using my Tuna Tin 2, 300 mW to 44 ft doublet up 35 ft. Only one contact in the short time I could operate, but lots of fun! Thanks to Brian for bearing with me through many repeats!

NO2D - Tried calling CQ NA until my arm wore out. Got several stations, but not NAQCC sprinters. Did not include them in my log. Ended up with only 3 participants, but enjoyed the sprint. Pete, NO2D

K3RLL - Another interesting 'Tale of Two Bands' with 20m running hot for 30 minutes and then 40m noisy here and tough sledding. Great RBNs on 20 (considering HOA antenna restrictions) but zero, zilch, nada RBNs from 40m. Chased former neighbor K3JZD for 1/2 hr. Miss Propagation sure keeps us guessing! 72 ... Don

N0TA - Great night on 20m! Thanks for the Q's. K3, doublet & vertical, Amplidan key, SprintLogger.

K9EYT - Thanks for the Qs QTH Tarpon Springs , Fl winter QTH IC706

KM4JEG - Couldn't finish the contact with K4JPN on 80...too much static...sri

K9TR - Could barely hear anyone for the first 2 hours on 20 or 40. And with my very poor indoor antenna and 5 watts from a QRP-Labs QCX-mini I'm suprised that anyone could hear me!

WD4OHD - Good propagation for a change, particularly on 40m, which was wide open. First time in a long while I've made contacts on all three bands. I had to quit a bit early but still got a reasonable number of QSOs in the log. Thanks to all.

W4HH - 40 was full of sigs here in E. VA; had gud time, only able to work 30 minutes. CU next month.

W6WU - 80 was noisy, 40 signals were strong, only made 2 QSO's on 20. Thanks for the fun evening!

K4KBL - What great night indeed...worked many friends and several new "faces" ! Thanks to all for a fun evening.

K4KRW - Fun night. OHR-500 with Bencher BY-1 paddles. 40m and 80m were it for me. Thanks everyone!

KC5F - I could only make the last 30 minutes tonight, but I couldn't miss a QRP Sprint! Too late for 20m, but 40m and 80m sounded good. Thanks, all!

WA2NYY - Great to be back on the sprint tonight. Gave the old Speed-X a good workout. Didnt find any signal on 20m. Good conditions on 40m for first 90 minutes. Went to 80m and worked a few more. Slowed down the last half hour. Was able to work everyone I heard. 72 Mark

VA3NU - Conditions were excellent on 40M tonight. Lots of activity and low noise. Thanks for all the contacts. Larry

AA2MX - lots of good signals, great activity. Thanks for the QSO's

K1MZM - 40 meters had lots of signals and lots of QSB tonight. Thanks for everyone's patience in pulling me through. Not too many signals here on 80 meters. I lost my main antenna in the recent snow storm so I was using a backup antenna which may have been part of the problem. It was good to see so many old friends.

KE9DR - Been 1 1/2 years since my last NAQCC Sprint. Enjoyed it very much. Hope to get on more often. 20 meters was good tonight for first hour. 40 had QRN and 80 was not much action plus QRN. Tnx to all, KE9DR Bert

K6FA - Has been a long time since operating the contest. Was fun and amazing what you can do with QRP. Station: K3 at 5 w to a Butternut HF9v ground mounted.

WX4RM - Was a good night,20 meters was open and was able to work CA,ME,and TX on it. Found 40 had very strong signals, had a good time as always.

N4MJ - Fun evening. Got one on 80, almost got a second one on 80 but QSB would not permit it to happen. Thanks to all participants. 73 de n4mj

VA3KRJ - Really enjoyed the Sprint, as always. Started late, but managed one hour. Conditions good on 80m tonight, unfortunately not on 40m.

VE3DQN - Finally we get enough daylight to make a couple QSOs on 20m. Look forward to more in the next few months.

NQ2W - Late start...didn't even try 20m. 40 and 80 were both good. Two-banders with KC5F, Steve, and NR1D, Kent. This never gets old...It's amazing what 5W and a wire will do. Looking forward to the next one. 73/72, Will, NQ2W

K1IX - Good activity and band condx. Tnx to the Q's cuagn 73 Frank

K3JZD - 20m not so hot. 40m hot. Had a good time this evening. It has been a while since I had to pick a call out of a pile up during this event. Worked lots of very high numbers. Welcome to the party. K4 @ 5w, 73, Jody - K3JZD

AA5LH - Worked last 45 mins & got 6 QSO's. A fair effort. Band conditions were challenging but expected more than static crashes & weak signals. The good thing-they make more Sprints. Thanks all that were present. Take care. CU next month

N3CAA - It was a long day at work and my sending suffered for it. However, it was fun as always and hoping to gather the courage to call "CQ NA" next month instead of exclusively hunting.

K9QEW - All Qs on 40m using my homebrew rockbound xmitter and J-38 key. Condx good on 40m until last hour then strange noise. Rockbound operations are challenging but fun. 72/73s & STAY TUNED Daryl

KA3TTT - I had fun using my stealth end-fed in the heart of Philadelphia.

N7KM - ONLY HOME A FEW MINUTES TONIGHT. WE ARE IN A SNOW STORM AND MY SWR WAS AWFUL. SORRY TO THE N4 I COULDNT PULL OUT. NEXT TIME! 72, KEN

KN1H - Happy to be operating from the home shack after 3 months of portable ops on the road. All 3 bands were full of QRPers tonight, worked lots of new and old friends! 72, John, KN1H. IC-7300 and Nye Viking Master Key.

VE6VIC - Conditions did not seem optimal with interference, that coupled with my position on the learning curve resulted in a couple of contacts! The main thing is that we had fun!!!!

KA6J - I was only able to work the last 1 1/2 hour. Usually tied up at the church house on Wed nights, but due to the time change, I could jump in at the end. 40 was very noisy tonight, but still enjoyed the sprint! Hope to see ya all next sprint! KA6J

K9DRP - I was just looking to enjoy the sprint tonight, and I did! Worked mostly S&P but did call CQ NA for the last half hour. Noticed a lot of cooties this evening, some good fists and others ... kind of tough to copy (and I'm a cootie OP also). But it was all fun.

AC2YD - It's been a while since my last one, but I don't remember this much activity ... busy just about all the time! ... best run I've ever had in any contest; thanks for all who called. Also some S&P; thanks for being there! Rig: Hermes Lite 2, "rig-in-a-box" style with Raspberry Pi at base of 1/4-wave fan vertical with 32 radials, remote controlled locally from Windows laptop via WiFi using Quisk s/w transceiver at both ends (laptop and outdoor Rasp Pi). Thanks for a great sprint!!

WB9HFK - A fun 2 hours of QRP CW! I thought 40M was in really good condition - some rapid QSB, however. Used the trusty J-38 for the entire run. Thanks for the QSO's and see everyone next time! 73, Mark WB9HFK

K2ZC - This was a fun sprint . Made all my qso's on 40M. I went to 80M briefly, but quickly returned. Thanks to all for the qso's. I was using a Flex 6400 @ 5W to a 40M dipole. I was using half of my iambic paddle as a straight key. vy 72, Dave k2zc

AB4QL - I am glad to be able to catch some of the sprint again. 40 was working ok.

KQ3Z - Got on late but work what I could quickly on 40 meters. Thanks for the contacts.

VE3FUJ - I have been away a long time about 4 years+ busy with trying to find my Ancestors and other thing but tonight was the night, I enjoyed the 1 1/2hr on 40 or though I did not hear that many signals. bRION 3011

K2OID - Great conditions on 40 tonight. I had more QSOs than ever. Lots of fun!

VE3DTI - My last NAQCC Sprint had been on Sept 20, 2017, and was a bit rusty at the beginning. Sincere apologies, particularly to George K4BAI who was my first contact of the night. I used the 703 at 5W (checked for each band). The long wire was tuned via the LDG RT-100. The key was the W6AME Single Paddle connected as a sideswiper. 72 ALL de Jose VE3DTI.

AA2VG - It's been a while since I sprinted! I forgot how much fun I have. I worked both 20m and 40m with my kit radio, the KD1JV tribander. It's a great little rig. There is something great about having a radio arrive in a box of many small parts. Add solder and then contact 20 states in 2 hours.FUN Tnx to all in the sprint. 72 Peter/AA2VG

K3ES - This was my first NAQCC sprint. Had big fun! TR-45L to 40m EFHW.

KI8JY - Lots of BC QRM here in OH tonight! But, it was still fun trying to get through. Thanks to everyone for participating. 73 - Dave KI8JY

VE3IIM - CONDX GUD ON 40. NICE TO WORK SOME NEW CALLS..40 WAS VERY BUSY. LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH!

WB1GYZ - Good cdx for a change which made for a fun event. Also worked W1AW/4 calling CQ VOTA (volunteers on the air)

K4NE - Good evening to operate 40m. Pleased to work non-member IN3TWX.

NF8M - Nice condx tonite before the geo storm stirred things up a bit. Tnx qsos.

AI6SL - Terrible local noise but some strong signals.

NN3E - Thanks everyone for the QSO'S See you next month 72 Kevin NN3E

KE5YUM - I only had a few minutes to devote to the sprint, and noisy conditions prevented more contacts. I look forwa4d to n3xt month. FT 817 and CWMORSE straight key. Terry

N8DD - first sprint with a cootie. what a hoot. 73

NG8S - In one hour I snagged 9 QSO's. I only got two on 20 so finished up on 40. It was fun and always a challenge...good way to end the day! As an added bonus I finally learned how to use the filter on my KX2?

WT4U - I had to cut it short, but lots of action and the first time in a while I've heard much activity on 20m. 40m had stations from one end of the Sprint band to the other, and a little bit beyond.

W0JMW - My first NAQCC Sprint and 20 meters was sounding great but everyone moved to 40 in a short period of time and the noise levels were high. Rig was TenTec Argonaut VI with GHD cootie, 5w into a DX Comm All Band Vertical. TU to everyone and I will be back in the future. Jeff, W0JMW

W8GG - Hello Fellow Sprinters! Fired up the FTdx1200 at 5 w to trap dipoles. J-38 key. 20m open at start yet not much from west coast. 40m was hopin! lots of signals but some WICKED QSB here in mid-Michigan.some true 599 and had several QSOs that just barely completed before they faded away. Had AA5LH fade out before all info passed. SRI Ol'boy. Had several callers who i couldn't quite get the whole call thru noise es QSB. SRI guys. Even had a dx caller at the end but never got the whole call. Ran across W1AW/4 on 40m so i figured why not ! Had a couple 2-fers, and always fun to work old friends N8LA and NF8M along with many other regulars. Stayed for the entire sprint tonight es my score showed it. Great fun pounding the brass with all of you. See you next sprint

VE3GNU - Great, and welcome change of condx and hardly any noise! And a hopeful sign for 'more of the same'. TT Jupiter and Bencher paddle. Thanks to all. 73 Ernie

KK4ITX - Continue to be plagued by noise (S7-S9 White Noise Hash) also had trouble with SK, I think that K4BAI copied OK. Scorekeeper remove me if I don't show on John's Log please. CQ'd 20/40/80 for almost 2hrs.

K4JPN - Heavy QRN on 20m, 40M and 80M till the 2nd hour for me in Georgia. Around 0130Z the QRN seem to letup and great hunting on 80M and 40M. I wonder if anyone had the QRN problem like I did? 72 Steve K4JPN

KA2KGP - Another nice NA Sprint. Both 40 & 80 were good here in WNY. Rig: IC-7000 at 5w. into a G5RV up 25 ft. w/ straight key.

AA0W - Good conditions on 20,40 and 80 meters. Some 2x band QSO's Thanks to all for a fun evening.

KN2G - The last snowstorm wiped out my inverted V's, I treated this contest like a grid down event. I set up the buddipole next to our chest freezer, in the house, (under a tin roof no less!) and used battery power. Thanks to the hard work of other members, I scraped up 6 contacts. As much fun as 20 contacts on a "normal" sprint.Am I a compulsive minimalist???

KB1M - Cleanup from 21 inch snowstorm left little energy for sprint tonight, so ran QRPp at 900mW for maximin fun. 20 was great for first half-hour with N0TA, CO longest distance, was even rewarded with a nonmember at 95W answering call. QRT early with big smile on face. Thanks for Q's, Walt

N5ZN - Good signals, cold front coming had to shutdown,

W0LMS - Well I got on for the last 30 minutes, the noise floor was through the roof, I heard faint signals but nothing complete enough to copy the full call. Band conditions were not great with the aurora going on here in Minnesota. See you next month, Russ de W0LMS - Last Man Standing in Minnesota :-)

KN4RQD - 40m was a little noisy but propagation was great. Lots of QRP signals jammed into those 15kHz! The highlight of the evening for me was the surprise DX from DK1VD. Thanks for the QSO's and see all you on the air next month!

KQ1P - Worked everyone I could hear on 20m.....

WA4AAK - Enjoyed it very much! My first set of contacts with a new rig: Penntek TR-45L. Band conditions excellent here in Alabama.

N5GW - Bands in good shape, but could only stay the first hour.

AK3X - Another fun sprint. Wish I had more time.

W2SH - With daylight saving time 20 stayed open for a half hour. 40m was In good shape, but after half an hour it was wiped out for me with very loud man-made electrical QRM; this drove me to 80m where conditions were good but activity was a bit light.

N8LA - KX-3; 5W; 200' Dipole @ 35'; NAQCCode Warrior with W8GG finger pieces wired as dual paddle side swiper by AD0BI. Kinda tired after wrestling with our two heavy cats taking them to the vet. Only going to get on for a few contacts. Found the bands were really jumping. Stayed on for duration after first half hour. 3 on 20, 6 on 40 and 12 on 80! Listened to "When Radio Was" the other day and heard Lum on Lum and Abner program of 03/01/43 pronounce "mental telepathy" as "mental telegraphy." Gave me a vision of a world where everyone could only think in "mental telegraphy," and only speak in telegraphy also! WHAT A WORLD!!!! Best to all the old and new friends worked in the sprint. Lou, N8LA
