SOAPBOX:

K3WWP - Pretty good conditions tonight. Probably should have stayed and worked more stations, but I just don't have that old contesting drive I used to have in my younger days. HI

KD0V - Only operated for 30 minutes. I was very tired after a long day. Thanks for all the QSO's

K9NUD - I only had a half hour tonight. 40 M was in good shape tonight. I didn't struggle on any of the contacts. Thanks all!

KC2MJT - Gave it a half hour tonight. Cndx here about as bad as they've been. Heard stations in and out on 20M, but couldn't raise them. 40M was not much better yet managed a couple of contacts. Actually managed to tune 80M this evening, but heard only one non member station in a long QSO.

N2CN - First time on in a while.

K9EYT - 40 was good tonite 72

AB9BZ - Thanks for the sprint. 72 ab9bz

KQ3Z - Quick on and off tonight. Lots of stations but didn't hear any NAQCC Members.

N0TA - Lot's of "Steve's" in NAQCC!! Thanks for the Q's.

K4KBL - Great time as always, worked some old friends and many new calls. Seems like 40 meters started to fade some around 10pm local tonight. Welcome to all new members !!

K3RLL - 20m was THE band this evening with good, strong signals and not much background noise. This was really fun tonight making good contacts some OTs in spite of my antenna limitations here. Thanks to all. 72/73 ... Don

KN4RQD - I was not expecting to make any contacts with a severely compromised antenna, but I did manage one NA (KC5F) and one POTA! 40m sounded pretty good tonight.

K9DRP - Didn't have much time available for the sprint, but I didn't want to miss 2 in a row! Didn't hear many sigs on 80, and I wanted to avoid interfering with my brothers foxhunting on 40. But I worked a few for the log. TNX fer the fun. 72, Don

NO2D - The NAQCC and the Fox Hunt coincided tonight. Oddly, the foxes chose to hide in the middle of the NAQCC. Made finding them difficult, but the bonus was that I got two NAQCC contacts while hunting foxes. NO2D, Pete.

N8HWV - Some big signals tonight on 40. Nuttin on 20. few on 80. Always fun.

N3CAA - Good conditions this evening until around 0245 when 40 dropped out. Looking forward to warmer weather to improve antenna placement in the backyard.

KN1H - Operating portable tonight from a campground on Lake Marion in South Carolina. Was able to get 28' of wire up supported by the MFJ fiberglass mast on the back of the camper. Couldn't get it to work on 80 (not surprising) but was OK on 20 and 40. Local noise was troublesome on 20 but 40 was pretty quiet. Great to hear everyone tonight! KX-2, Electrovoice KY 605/U straight key, 12V battery. 72, John, KN1H/4

K1IX - pretty good cndx and plenty of activity 80 & 40 Tnx for the Q's

K4KRW - I only got to work about 30 minutes. But fun as always. Flex 6600 with Begali Blade straight key. Thanks everyone! Richard

K2CWM - Only made 6 contacts in the first 30 minutes as I wanted to watch the State of the Union address. Thanks all for the contacts.

AA2MX - Only had a half hour to work the sprint, but enjoyed every minute. Used my new 80M QCX mini, what a ball! thanks

VA3KRJ - I really enjoy the monthly sprint. Conditions were pretty good on 80m tonight. Thanks everyone!

KC5F - 1st Tuesday is our radio club, but I got out just in time for the Sprint! Another great run on 40m with a quick run on 80 at the end. Great signals from all who called - thanks, all!

W6WU - Enjoyable evening. 40 noise was high until 02:30. Only picked up 2 on 20. Finished out on 80. Thanks!

K3JZD - Just 40m, just the last 90 minutes. 40m was kind of funny tonight - QSB and a lot of distorted tones. Glad it was not a milliwatt sprint. K4 @ 5w with a 40m Dipole. 73, Jody - K3JZD

AC1KV - Had fun as usual. All QSO on 40M. Thanks for the contacts!

WB1GYZ - Difficult conditions -- had enough after an hour. Thanks to all who make the Sprint possible.

N4MJ - Fun evening between Fox Hunting, NAQCCP, and listening for 3Y0J. Just a very busy evening of pushing buttons and twisting knobs. hi Welcome to the new Ops. Hope to C'Ya next month. 73 de n4mj//glenn

NQ2W - That was great! 20, 40, and 80 were all pretty good. Lots of strong signals coming in...and a few weaker ones, but I think all attempted QSOs were completed...some repeats, but we got it done. FB! Thanks for the contacts, the opportunity to participate, and the very enjoyable evening. 72, Will, NQ2W

KN4ZXG - All S&P.

WB9HFK - A fun evening of 40M QRP! I stopped for a while to participate in the QFox Hunt. Thanks for all the Q's and see everyone next time! 72, Mark WB9HFK

W3IPA - First sprint with the Vibroplex bug paired with the IC705. Thanks to all that was patient with me!

WG8Y - Hi all, 20m was open at the start for me. Caught Ca,Co,AZ,Ks & NY then the band faded. Signals on 40m were good & not much QRN for a change. Ran into a station running Split/QRP. Didn't get what that was all about. Oh well. Went to 80m. Worked a couple then called CQ for the last half hour. Thanks to N0TA,NQ2W & KA2KGP for 2 bands. Sorry to a couple I missed. See you next time. Had a good time playing radio.Hi Hi. 72 from N.C. Mark WG8Y

WD4OHD - Best band conditions in a long while on 40m and 80m. 80m was a little late opening and not as strong as 40m, but some good signals on both bands, particularly during the second hour. I heard a few signals on 20m, but they were too weak to work. Thanks to all who participated tonight.

KY4ID - Another night of FB ops and QRP CW! It's been a while since I've used my bug. My sending was embarrassingly bad at times. Sorry about that. I need to remember to calibrate it beforehand as well. Did the NA Sprint this past weekend, which inspired me to disconnect the cluster and try to improve my unassisted S&P skills. Liking it so far. Condx were excellent. I handed out many, many 599s. Checked the S-meter to see if I was being too generous. I wasn't. Worked DK1VD for only the second time ever. This time was fairly easy. Worked many 11xxx series calls (which is great to see) and many old friends. Thanks for all of the Qs and hope to CU this weekend in the WES. 73, Burton, KY4ID

WT4U - 40m was about as good tonight as I've seen a while on a Sprint night. Low noise and strong signals. RBN said I was reaching the west coast on 20m, but I wasn't hearing anyone. 80m was a bit noisy for February, but worked until almost the end. My best Sprint in a while!

K9QEW - All Qs on 40 meters. Very good activity tonight. Put my HB rockbound "Funmitter" on the air first part of the sprint. 72/73s & STAY TUNED! Daryl

K2OID - Took my QCX+ with me on vacation, threw up an antenna in the trees behind our condo and made 16 contacts. TNX everyone for the QSOs and especially to KC7DM for his patience. What an absolute "hoot"!

K4BAI - Good band conditions on 20, 40, and 80. 20 was relatively short at the start. W2SH was 599. By the time we got in sync for a QSO, he was down to 559. But other signals were holding up. Didn't work anybody west of Colorado. More should try 80M during the last half hour or so. Unfortunate overlap with the QRP Fox Hunt tonight. I took time out of our sprint to work both Foxes and also to meet two CW traffic nets. About 1:45 hours of actual operation. 73/72, John, K4BAI.

NF8M - Remote operation of home QTH. Op time 5 minutes. TNX es 72

WX4RM - Propagation was good tonight, but the noise level was high. Had fun as always.

W2JEK - Got on late only 4 qso. Had fun 72/73 DON W2JEK

W8GG - Hello Fellow Sprinters. onlyy had a hour to play last night. 20 was open but not very strong. got a few Qs there and flipping back es forth to 40. Good condx on 40 es the band was packed. 1 QSO on 80. Rounded out the evening wid a qso wid Ol' pal Louis N8LA who found me and caught my attention just before i went QRT. Had a great time as usuall. see u all next month. 73 Gregg W8GG

KE5YUM - I enjoyed a signal rich environment on 20 meters last night but could only work three, including some new call signs..Thanks to all who worked me with my FT 817 and CWMORSE Key.

WI8J - Thanks for the contacts! 72

KC3MIO - Conditions were very good for the sprint. Nice to pick up some contacts on 20 before switching to 40, which was fruitful until around 0230. Propagation was surprisingly good on 80 and then I turned back to 40 and picked up a few more contacts. On that last stretch on 40, I noticed a strange phenomenon: after calling CQ, a welter of signals came back and then disappeared. This happened at least three times and it was hard to pick out one callsign. I wonder if it was the band opening and closing quickly. Anyway, a great sprint and it was a pleasure to work some of our newest members and some of the low numbers. Thanks to all my contacts and hope to CUAGN next month or on the bands. Thanks as usual to the NAQCC and thinking of WB4OMM.

W1TM - Had a great run on 20 early, but 40 was worthless due to very strong roving QRM at my QTH. Had to quit very early due to eye problems and logging.

VA2IW - Solid 20m until half-way through. Unstable 40m throughout. No 80m activity heard here up North. 72!

K8TJ - Had a lot of fun with a new little uSDX QRP rig from China! Been a few years since I entered a Sprint and had forgotten how much fun it was! I'll be back!

KA2KGP - Good turnout & good bands = Good NA Sprint. Rig here was IC-7000 at 5w. into a G5RV up 25 ft. w/ straight key. 73 to all.

WA2FBN - I did manage a few contacts on 40m and 80m during the short time I had to operate sprint. X5105 at 4w into dipole at 25ft. Vibroplex paddle. 72 Ken - WA2FBN

NA4O - Unable to hear much activity. Only 40M station heard and they were at the noise level.

K4JPN - Got a late start, but glad to work a few, it seemed after 0300Z I did not hear any new ones on 80M or 40M. I never heard anyone on 20M. 72, Steve K4JPN

KI7LW - What amazing conditions on 20m! Always hard to make contacts from AZ, but reached NY and NC with ease. The error in scheduling the wrong week was well played. Now if we could just schedule the sprint to coincide with good propagation every time...

VE6VIC - The sprint definitely increases my cw skills, head copy is still out there! There were some weak/distance signals that created challenge, thanks so much for setting up, I look forward to the next sprint. VE6VIC

W2ECK - Joined a long time ago, but this is first time I tried the Sprint. Only played for a while and wasn't logging efficiently but since downloaded AC0C's Logger and transferred qsos to it. Had fun and will be back in earnest next month. Started on 40m, looked on 80m but didn't see any activity. Tnx for QSO's

N8DD - calling QRL? while QRO over active QSO is rude! thank for patience OM

KN2G - I saw that KC5F made 66 contacts.... I was excited with my 16! Maybe I need a few lessons. Anyway I still had a blast rooting out sigs in the muck and mire. March seems so far away. Thanks for the patience N0TA and WT4U.

W4EDN - BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE LAST SPRINT AND BUG NEEDED TLC, STILL DOES. BUT GOT 3

KD8RGJ - Good fun working the NAQCC Sprint this month

VE3GNU - Unlike everywhere else---conditions here on the noisy side, so decided to call it quits after 30 or so minutes----but still optimistic for better days ahead. TT Jupiter @ 5 W. and Begali paddle. Ernie VE3GNU

N5GW - 20 and 40 meters were in good shape - did not try 80. After a long day I quit at the halfway point, but as usual it was fun!

AK3X - Not much time for the sprint. Too many hobbies. 40 was in good shape.

KD0FNR - Wow! The 12 year old kid and I had a blast! We set up our antenna near Deadman's Point at Lands End on the edge of San Francisco, looking right at the Golden Gate bridge. The kid logged while I operated. I forgot to ask for nonmembers power, or we would have had 7 contacts, but 2 is twice as many as last month! This is a lot of fun!

W2SH - I celebrated a birthday only an hour or so before the start of the sprint, and the day's events didn't leave me in much of a CW mood. I started with five 20m QSOs, but then there was a long QRX when the rig stopped keying, caused by a loose plug-in connector. Then I entered the 40m Fox Hunt where Hounds were rubbing shoulders with Sprinters and it was 45 minutes before I snagged a North Carolina pelt before returning to the Sprint. Five QSOs on 20m, five on 80m, four on 40m.

K3CTN - Have not done much operating; Very rusty on the straight key.

WB8ENE - Didn't hear a single NAQCC station on the air. Too much noise on 40 meters here. Will try again next month. 73, Art

N8LA - KX-3; 5W; 200' Dipole Up 35'; NAQCCode Warrior with W8GG Finger Pieces Wired as a Dual Paddle Side Swiper by AD0BI. Thanks to all who worked me, including friend Gregg W8GG, and apologies to all I was unable to work. I consider this first Tuesday time as a "F?lix culpa" -- Latin for "fortunate fault" -- because it gave me a perfect reason not to view, or listen to, the State of the Union speech. I am not political, or apolitical, but am antipolitical, opposing many political views be they liberal, conservative, or anything else. God may have answered my prayers with the fortunate change of date and then demonstrated a sense of humor when my first contact was with K3CRM in Delaware while I was avoiding a speech by someone from Delaware!! Be sure to view the big Bowl game on Sunday -- the Puppy Bowl on the Animal Planet channel with the cute kitten cheerleaders!!! Best 72 to All, Lou N8LA

KK4ITX - S7-S9 Noise after dark renders my QRP equipment almost useless at my QTH except for the strongest of signals. It will get better as we get closer to April and the Snowbirds go back North.

WA1GWH - 40m was in quite good shape from here near Syracuse, NY. Worked 10 different SPCs in the half hour that I operated. TU!
