The NAQCC Spring 2007 Rag Chew Award

Results:

Call Number of rag chews
K3WWP 17
KB3LFC 8

Soapbox:

K3WWP - If we counted 20-29 minute QSO's, I'd have a lot more. I don't know how many times after rolling along so well, an XYL would call, a phone would ring, someone couldn't think of anything else to say, etc., and the QSO would end short of the mark. I am good at stretching out a QSO to 30 minutes once we hit 24-25 minutes, and did so when I could, unless I sensed the other party really had to QRT immediately, then I let him go quickly. I think there are some folks though who think the complete definition of a QSO is RST, QTH, Name, Rig, WX, QRU, 73. Personally I like to find out more about the person I am working, but that is not always possible. Oh, and of course the band often changes on a good QSO. That also cut off a few potential 30 minute rag chews before they completed. Still it was an awful lot of fun, as are all of our NAQCC challenges. I can't think of one that I didn't enjoy tremendously, although actually technically this was an award and not one of our challenges.

KB3LFC - Looking forward to next year's spring rag chew award, and hoping to do better.
