Hopefully the QRN is down, the QSB is gone and propagation has rebounded a bit, because, it is time to throttle it back to 1 watt or less and go QSO hunting. So off you go, good luck and may the bands be kind to you. Come back and tell us about all those QRPp QSOs you bagged
The first day of the month 0000Z through the last day of the month 2400Z
Accumulate at least 25 QRPp QSO points with TX power output of one watt or less, based on the table below:
QSOs must include at least 5 US states or 5 DX entities.
Use the following point values for your QSOs:
1000 mW or less 1 pt
500 mW or less 2 pts
250 mW or less 4 pts
100 mW or less 8 pts
For Example a 300 mW QSO is worth 2 points because your TX power is less than 500 mW and more than 250 mW. You are on your honor to do your best measuring TX power. It is a bit of black magic to be spot on at these power levels and if you don’t tell us how you did it, we won’t ask...
All contacts must be started, carried on and finished with QRPp power. Starting at higher power and cutting back to QRPp levels is not allowed. The other station may be running any power. Only you must use QRPp power.
General Challenge Rules apply, except as noted above.
For a certificate and participation point, state that you did meet the QSO requirements for states or DX entities and submit your QSO Points summary as shown in the example in the LOGS section below.
For only a participation point state that you made at least 10 QRPp QSOs.
A choice of an item made by master woodworker Gregg WB8LZG as shown on our prizes page here goes to someone selected via a random drawing from all who participate and submit a report for this month's challenge. A person can only win once, then they become ineligible for future drawings.
Submit your report using the following format:
Example: K1YAN     36     10/900 mW     11/400 mW     1/175 mW.
In this example K1YAN had a total of 36 points: ten 900 mW Qs for 1 point each , eleven 400 mW Qs for 2 points each and one 175 mW Q for 4 points.
You may also include comments about the challenge. Please preface any comments you want posted with "SOAPBOX:" so we will know what you want posted and what is private.
