Soapbox:
AB9YC: This was another fun challenge. It also helped that I had much radio time over the long weekend and was able to accumulate many QSO's and needed letters. My standout QSO was contact with YT9M over 5 000 miles on 5w! I look forward to next month.

K3WWP: There's always that one that slows things down. This month it was the number 4 for the EU Chapter challenge and the letter I for our Vibroplex challenge. For both challenges it took several days to get the final number/letter. I guess that is what adds to the challenge though. If it was too easy it wouldn't be a challenge. It sure does spur me to get on the air more to master these challenges and that's basically what they are all about to increase CW activity on the bands. Well I'm typing this just a few minutes before our sprint so I've got to hurry. Thanks to everyone

WU1V: I was surprised to complete this Challenge by the 21st of the month given all the July sprints I participated in which don't count for challenge credit. It took me 29 callsigns to make the sweep. This was a fun series even though I've never used a bug! All my contacts were made using my Nye Speed-X straight key which I love. Several of my QSOs were with Europeans, which I am blessed with an ease of contacting from here on the East Coast. Propagation across the pond seems quite good here, much better than going westwards to the West Coast which is always tough for me. One of my contacts was a rare US Virgin Islands QSO. Russia and Ukraine figured into the picture along with Great Britain, Italy, Poland, and to the south, Nicaragua and Guadeloupe. One US contact was with a SOTA station in Arizona which was nice. I love QRP and these challenges are a lot of fun. Thanks, 72, Rick

ND9M: This was my first challenge, and I'm sure it won't be my last. My best catch was with E51AND who not only was great DX but also knocked out a bunch of letters with the one contact. I'm not sure if I was more surprised that he was able to copy me or that nobody was calling him!

K1IEE: Bands a little better this month. Worked mostly on 15M 20M and 40M. Enjoy the word challenges. All challenges are fun and provide just another reason to get on the air daily with my little HW-9 and OCF dipole at 4 watts. Thanks 73 Dick K1IEE

W2JEK: THIS WAS A LOT OF FUN. THE LAST LETTER NEEDED WAS T. USED SOME K2 CALLS FROM THE 13 COLONIES SPECIAL EVENT OPERATION.USED 29 CALLS. 72 AND 73 DON YOUNGER W2JEK #1135

N8XMS: The month started off very slow for me and I didn't complete my first word until the 18th. After that it picked up a little but I still had a rough time collecting the I's and L's that I needed. I finally finished up with my last L on the 30th.

VE3FUJ: Again this month I did poorly, other duties kept me away from radio. I do remember a couple of evening where I was raring to go, then T-storms intervened, to spoil my raring to go fun. Brion

PREMISE:
Last year we received suggestions for two challenges from Gary K1YAN just after we had finalized our 2012 schedule, and we promised Gary to use his suggestions in 2013. This is the second of his suggestions involving names related to Vibroplex.

TIME FRAME:
The first day of the month 0000Z through the last day of the month 2400Z

RULES:
Just make ALL the following words from the letters in the call signs of stations you work:

ORIGINAL
CHAMPION
BLUE RACER
LIGHTNING BUG
PRESENTATION
JUNIOR
ZEPHYR
MODEL X
TWIN LEVER
H G MARTIN

The 23 different letters involved are: A B C D E G H I J L M N O P R S T U V W X Y Z

You can use each letter in a call TWICE. For example you could use K3WWP for 2 K's, 4 W's, and 2 P's.

Subsequent QSO's with the same station cannot be used for additional letters. For example, no matter how many times you work K3WWP, you can only use his call for 8 of the letters in the words.

See the Alphabet Tutorial page for an excellent way to track any and all of our alphabet type challenges.

AWARDS:
A certificate and Participation Point go to everyone making all the words and submitting their report before the deadline.

A Participation Point goes to everyone making at least 1, but not all the words and submitting their report before the deadline.

PRIZES:
Some challenges involve a prize. Check the Prize page in the main section of the web site for more info.

LOGS:
For your report, list the words you made and the station used for each letter in the word. The number of stations listed must be the same as the number of letters in each word, even though you use the same station for more than one letter as in:

WORD - K3WWP, N2OD, WA8REI, N2OD

Note how N2OD is listed for both the O and D.

You may also include comments about the challenge. Please preface any comments you want posted with "SOAPBOX:" so we will know what you want posted and what is private.

Send your results to:

You must type that address into your email program.

Subject must read: (your call) NAQCC (month) Challenge

For example: K3WWP NAQCC February Challenge
