Apr 2017 QRP/CW Sprint (#150)
N2CN Comments -
Log submission for this sprint has ended. My final count is 217 logs -- a new record.
K3WWP Comments - The time for questioning scoring changes from cross-checking is now past, so the results are final now - etched in stone. Thanks for the great record turnout. Wouldn't it be nice to have 200+ logs every sprint to really show how well QRP works and how popular it is. Congrats to Mike WA8SAN for being the right number at the right time to win our special $150 prize drawing for our 150th sprint.

SOAPBOX:
N9SE - Only had a few minutes to get on tonight, but lots of fun and LOTS of activity! 72 de Marty N9SE
KG4MTN - Didn't have much time to operate but it was fun! I always enjoy these sprints. Condx were a bit noisy but sigs were good. Equipment - K2 running 5w to EFHW, GHD !
WB5UAA - Was able to work a few of you on 20M before it dropped out. 40M and below were unworkable due to a storm that just passed by. 73 and C U all AGN!
KB8FE - Conditions were good on 40 meters here in northern Ohio. .
AA2VG - Glad to make it to the 150th. Peter AA2VG
KD0V - Had a hard day and was not up to par by any means. There was lots of activity. #150 sounds like a great one!
K3RLL - K3 to my highly-compromised, flat black stealth night-only vertical: Nice to hear so many on for our 150th Sprint. 40m seemed really packed tonight. I think we even drove the digital signals away! (GRIN) Very nice to hear some calls I haven't heard in a while. The big signal into FL tonight was WZ4M. 73/72 ... Don K3RLL
W4HH - Good condx both 80 and 40; lots of activity.
KC9TYA - First NAQCC contest, had a lot of fun...hope my log makes it thru
AD4XX - This is my first NAQCC Sprint. It was a lot of fun even though I only worked the first hour. I will be back! Jim - AD4XX #7984
K7EW - KX-2 poor success/for a solid hour of effort on 20, 40, 80. Shucks! I'm pretty sure N4BP (FL) did not get my number, but the rest. Heard but unable to contact WA7QCC maybe a dozen airline miles away. No N7QR, wah! 10 and 5 MHz WWV strong. I did try to particip' in the 150th!
N0MII - Congrats on #150 milestone!
N8ZYA - I operated about an hour. Many stations were like "ghosts"- there one minute and gone the next.
WV8DH - Fun sprint and good band (40m) for a change until the last 30 minutes and had to shut down due to storm rolling through. Anyway, already looking forward to next month. Best 72/73 from Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.
KB0ETU - Quit early. Been a busy last couple of days and guess I'm just worn out. Bands were poor, but that is becoming normal. Thanks to the guys that could pull me out. And thanks to the organizers. Used my K-2 with G5RV and a Scheunemann Morsetasten key. 72, Phil
W4QO - Hope you all hit 150 entries. Had a lot of fun and could have made more but only had about 1 hour. KX3 really digs them out.
N2HTT - Just got home from a 3 hour drive, but was determined to get a log in! 80m was cooking for lots of signals up and down the east coast, but ony had about 20 minutes of operating time. Good fun as always, 72 Mike
KF7Z - Great little sprint tonight, 40 was dropping in and out pretty bad early on but got stronger towards the end. Thanks for all the Qs. Elecraft K3s set at 4.5 watts to diploe at 25f with a keyer. 73 .
AA4W - What a LOT of fun. It was great to work some folks I haven't worked in a while! 20 was good (surprised me) 80 was noisy but garnered a few Q's.
WH6LE - Nice turnout and bands seemed to hang in there.
WE4GA - I had a great time. Thank you to all for a fun evening. .
K4KRW - I missed the first half but still had a great time. Conditions here were not the best. But I still heard some nice signals. Thanks everyone! 73 - Richard .
WB4OMM - Wow! 20M died off early 8and 04/80 were NOISY!!! S5 to S8 noise on everything, made for some real efforts - but signals weren't all that bad. Thanks to filters!!! Worked a few folks I hadn't in a while....and actually, did OK for Qs and Mults (for what the bands were worth). Special Thanks to Karen W4KRN whom I have not had the pleasure in a while, my good friend Rick AA4W (I see him, but first time working him in an NAQCC Sprint!) Also good to work John K3WWP as always. Not that the rest of you don't count, you certainly do, and I appreciate the calls! Just don't get to work these folks often.....hope everyone had a great time, 'cause I did! AND I HOPE WE MAKE THE 150 logs!!!!!! Congrats to NAQCC for it's 150th Anniversary!! I am proud to be part of it! 72/73, Steve WB4OMM #5913
WZ2N - 20m was so good through the day I really had high hopes...again it was not to be. All QSOs made on 40. Too much static to make 80 work tonight. Great operating by all as usual. Propagation seemed to be one way with all of the SW stations but still had a lot of fun. It had been far too long since I made an appearance! 73 until next time WZ2N
KQ3Z - Tough night at my QTH. Heard stations but few heard me. Jumping between 80 and 40 to make only a few contacts. Thanks for the contacts. Thanks to those who make these Sprints and Newsletter happen. .
W4EDN - Only one contact on 80, big surprise, 40 was wild. My antenna needs tuning badly for next month. Had a great time and worked the full 2 hours, went by fast. I lost several contacts to QSB. Tried for 20 but ran out of time.
KC3RN - Pretty good conditions tonight. A great way to celebrate the 150th sprint. Even got to give my new FT-450 a good workout. Had to stick to 40M since my 80M antenna was having issues tonight. Still had a great time. Thanks!
AA9L - What a great sprint. Had a pile-up on 40 meters at first. Wanted to add to the logs, hope we hit 150. Thanks to all that are in my log. 73, AA9L
N0TA - Nice to work a few on 20m at the start. Thanks for the Q's. Kx2, doublet & vertical, keyer for sending CQ, GenLog.
NF8M - Got on for the last hour after a Scouting function tonight. 40 meters was in good shape but 80 was weak and sparse. Cheers to 150 sprints - hope we get to 150 logs! Hope to see everyone in the Michigan QSO Party Saturday. .
N8XMS - This was a great sprint and I am certain that we are going to hit our goal of 150+ submitted logs. I mostly parked myself on a single frequency and called CQ NA. I often had 3 or 4 stations answering me on top of each other! A big thank you to all of the participants and I hope that you will return next month for some more QRP/CW sprint fun. - 73, N8XMS
KA8HDE - Been many months since my last one, but thought I would get in on the celebration and fire up my K1 which had gathered some dust. Not my best # of QSOs, but it seemed like a good turnout. Nice to get called by K4BAI and K0TC.
KD9VT - Didn't get to any band but 40m - Very good night and great fun -Thank you to all that called me - Dave
N1JI - I started the sprint about 20 minutes late and was only going to make a few contacts. There were so many folks on the air, however, that I stayed on all the way to the end. Thanks, everyone, for a fun evening! 72
WH6YH - IC7410 turned down to 5w. My apologies to the Op I worked at 0228, I did not space bar to save the QSO and some how zapped it; if you make it to Savannah, please look me up and lunch is my treat. Thank you for the QSO Gents, my pleasure to play in another sprint. 72 Mike
NO2D - Too much of a good thing. Both NAQCC and the Fox Extravaganza on at the same time and the same frequency ranges makes for a big crowd. Foxes were scarce where I am. NAQCC stations were all over 40 meters. 80 meters was quiet here near Denver. Hope we hit 150 on 150, or more. Thanks to all who make the sprints possible. Pete, NO2D. .
WA2JSG - Operated away from my home (same state, county, grid square) and used my IC-703 off a 12v battery into a hastily installed G5RV/Jr at 16 feet up. Made all my contacts on 40m. Happy 150th to the club! .
W7PAZ - Thanks for the QSO's and another Sprint. Always lots of fun. .
KC7DM - Here in 7-land, it seems we've made the 80m for 20m seasonal tradeoff. 40m was very noisy at this QTH tonight. Happy 150 NA! .
NA4O - I am happy to be part of this event! And the bands were even nice to me here.
K4BB - First Spring. Good fun.
KH6OZ - I heard quite a few stations from the east. Not many could pull out my signal. Thanks for the QSOs. .
WM4AA - Just got home from out of town and managed to get 1 QSO in! .
K1IEE - After the first hour the bands just dropped out for me. Tried 40, 20 and 80M lost a lot of time bouncing around but still enjoyed the sprint. My long wire is still snow bound at 10' off the ground. Will be back up for May sprint. Thanks to all 73 Dick .
KN1H - A fun sprint with lots of activity on all three bands. Hooray for longer days! Congratulations to NAQCC for 150 sprints! IC-7200 and Nye Viking Master Key.
K9PL - PFR-3, Fan Dipole, Hi-Per-Mite S9 QRN, QSB, tough to pull out signals. Broken Q's. .
AI5I - KX2 + Begali single lever key
KD9EBS - Thank you all! YouKits HB-1B, End-Fed Wire ANT @ 25' Attic, Straight Key. 73! 72!
K6CSL - It's been some time since I've been able to get into a NAQCC Sprint. Tonights sprint coincided with the Season ending QRP Fox Hunt "Foxtravaganza" My noise level this evening on 40m was quite high so I could only hear the strongest signals here. 73's to all from the Northern San Joaquin Valley. Bert, K6CSL .
N3CI - Hard going at times, but lots of fun. .
WD4OHD - A lot of noise on 40m. Nothing heard on 20m. I only made a few QSOs on 80m until the second hour, when the band opened up nicely. A lot of fun this evening, as usual. Thanks to all. .
WG8Y - Hi all,Used a 40/80m trapped DP that I was getting ready for FD for one of our stations. Seemed to work pretty gud.I did S&P & picked up 4 on 20m b4 it went away.Used HB 20M ground mounted vert.over 35 odd length radials. 40M was loaded. More S&Ping then went to 80m for the last hour. loaded & nice signals. Called a few guys then called CQ for the last half hour.Worked N9NE on 40m who gave me a 5W instead of a no. Said he was doing FOC.Ok I guess. I went with the 5W. Thanks all and good luck to all on the prize drawing. Had fun. 73 from N.C. Mark WG8Y
KI0I - I`d been away so long I forgot how to ruyn Genlog ! Got hung up and logged all but the first Q on paper, the old fashioned way ! Thanks for the contacts , some nice sigs on 40m tonite. 73/72 Mark KI0I 4578 .
K3WWP - My best ever number of QSOs beating my previous high by 7 QSOs. I made 64 QSOs this month. I've always wanted to break 60 and I finally did it. It was a real joy to average a QSO every two minutes, actually every 1.875 minutes. All but a couple near the end came in answer to my CQs. 38 were on 40 and 26 on 80. Fun, fun, fun. Thanks to all for the QSOs. Now I imagine I'm in for a busy few days cross-checking what I hope will be a record number of logs for this special sprint. Wow, I'm still on a ham radio high.
WX4RM - Conditions were great here in the mountains of NC. Had fun tonight!
KA2KGP - Good band conditions this sprint. Even 20m. was open the first half hour. Rig: ICOM IC-7000 at 5w. into 40m. dipole up 25 ft.
N2CN - One of the best sprints ever. 80 and 40 were busy and not noisy. Thank you to everyone who came back to me. Used a KX2 on battery power.
WB2LQF - Great fun tonight! Started out on 20 and worked the west coast in the first hour. Switched to 80 and had so much fun there, I forgot to even survey 40! I LOVE MY BUG! .
KA5DWI - Nice to hear and work so many QRP stations. I worked more in this Sprint than what I did last weekend. I look forward to another one. 72 .
VA3NU - Good conditions on 40 tonite. Great fun and Happy 150th NAQCC.
KD0STU - This is my first entry into a CW sprint.
N4OW - Very fun sprint. Surprised I did so well with my very low loop. Thanks to all that copied my sigs. 72 de N4ow
KB1KXL - Sprint times are bad for the west coast, at least for those of us who still have to work, but I was able to leave work a few minutes early and got a few minutes of operating in.
KE7YTE - Even one contact is a good one. .
W7SWB - Only had an hour, but I did better this time than last. 73 /John
WF7T - I rarely play in the NAQCC sprints, so forgive me if my exchange wasn't really fine tuned. Heard some familiar calls and a couple new ones. 20 stunk here due to the new over horizon radar 'woodpecker'. 80 noisy hear due to local thunderstorms. 40 was obviously where it was at! Thanks for the fun...happy 150th, 73
KF7WNS - Nice to have 20m open again. QSB made exchanges tough...I lost several stations never to be heard again. I think I had John/AL7JK calling, but noise was just too much tonight. 40m was really busy and was deep with stations, but it was a bit early for the West Coast and I was just not being heard. Couldn't stay for the whole event, but really nice to see so much participation. 72 all
K0FNR - Still on the learning curve zero beating crowded band with my "new" Century 21-- got my one contact with 11 minutes to go.
W2NRA - My second NAQCC Sprint. More Qs, more fun. Wish they were longer! Thanks for the QSOs. 72, de Art W2NRA 8866
AB3RU - Fun sprint tonight - I missed last month because wind took down my antenna and it was too cold to repair. Made some S+P QSO's but it's really just like riding a bike. See you all next time! Happy 150th sprint!
KE5YUM - The 150th sprint coincided with my 75th sprint so I was thrilled to be a part of the event. Good signals on 20 and 40 were good for the time I was on. Rig tonight was the FT 817 and 5 watts. All the best, Terry
VE9BEL - JUST HAD A FEW MINUTES TO MAKE QSO'S, BUT I WANTED TO HELP YOU GUYS REACH 150 LOGS. 73 BERNARD
AA9WP - Hello everyone, 40 meters started fine. But stopped for short local club net....when I came back 40 was not so fine. Would have gone to 80 but no antenna presently. Nice to connect with John for first QSO. 73's Don aa9wp
AB9YC - I only had a short period of time to get on and was able to operate starting at 01Z. I decided to try 40M first, and it was in great shape. I had strong signals and armchair copy, however I did have a few problems with my keyer not behaving - thanks for the patience.
K5MBA - Used a Heathkit HW8. Lots of CQs on 20 & 40 meters through out the night, just could not get through. .
KA5TJS - Well it was fun and glade to be a small part of the 150 anniversary for sure. I just fired up on 40 meters with the FT-817 and the 80 meter inverted vee at 5 watts. Worked 2 new stations last night. Great sprint.
WI1B - Tnx everyone for fun sprint wish QRN was lower 73 .
W2JLK - Good condx on 40 from Midwest, fair from South
WK8S - This is my first sprint and log submission. It was fun. Band was very noisy here in Colorado and my EFHW was damaged in recent wet snow storm so that might not have helped my score. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! :-) .
WS1K - Great fun as always. I only ran the last hour on 40 and 80. There were more stations on the air than I had time to work. 73 and thank you. K3 5W, 270' Horiz Loop
WB8ENE - I managed to make a few contacts in my usual one hour of operating. For a while there, I thought it was going to be an all Illinois sprint for me. Those were my first three contacts. Thanks, and 73, Art .
N4KS - Good propagation on 40. 72, Ken
K4BAI - FT1000MP, 5W, TH6DXX, dipole, inverted vee. QSOs by band: 20: 8; 40: 36; 80: 8. 20M very good to much of the country, but not too many sprinters knew it. 40M was good to most of the country beyond 600 miles or so. QRN became worse as the night wore on. Surprisingly, the QRN wasn't too bad on 80M and I probably should have gone to 80M earlier. Activity seemed good and was helped by the QRP Fox Hunt Extravaganza stations. I hope the goal of 150 logs will be reached. Thanks for all QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
N4BP - Good condx on 20M at the start. S9 noise on 80M = 0 QSOs 40M also very noisy, gave up after about an hour.
KD0DK - It was a short night for me, but I still managed to make a few contacts for the log. See everybody next month. 72/73 KD0DK .
K4RHG - Best Sprint in a long time, especially the first hour. Had three QSOs with the other end of the country from my QTH in Naples, FL. KF7WNS in Bandon, OR -- 2,657 miles W7SWB in Trout, WA -- 2,573 miles KC7DM in Joseph, OR -- 2,363 miles Five watts and a simple antenna do amazing things! .
KU4A - Best I've heard 40m in awhile. Couldn't find anybody on 80, so I guess everyone just stayed on 40 - HI! Good luck to everyone in the prize drawing. .
KA0OBI - Great fun! Sprints have become one of my favorite activities. Unfortunately, my dog decided he needed to go out right in the middle of the sprint so I missed the last hour. .
WA1GWH - Wow! Nice to hear so many in the sprint. Thanks for the contacts! Garry .
AA4MZ - Great Sprint! Sprint Number 150! Thanks NAQCC! .
K0PF - 40 was great tonight, lots of stations heard. Visiting grandson limited my time, but showed him some CW on a tiny radio (KX2)! Thanks to all, it is always fun, whatever the conditions. .
K1SWL - This was the first time I've participated. Thanks- good activity levels and good fun! .
KD3CA - Another fun sprint , sure was hard keeping a frequency with all the good signals . Many thanks to those who called . Sorry to those that I couldn't work , as QRM was bad at times. Best 73 to all . Don
KC1SA - This was my first Sprint and the first QRP activity I've participated in. It was a challenge but was enlightening to see the distance one can get with a SWA and 5W. .
K4NYI - Vintage Ten-Tec Argonaut 509 to sloper. Lots of fun! .
W5ODS - Another great Sprint. A good run on 20M then went to 40M. Lots of activity. Happy to participate in this 150th monthly Sprint. 73 and 72 to all. .
WK4WC - New member #8919. Thanks for a great event! 73 Lane WK4WC .
KB3MOW - Only had an hour to operate, but had fun! .
W4DUK - Had a great time, and picked up several new contacts for my next Friendship Club endorsement. 73/72 de Dave .
K2ZD - Heard several W7's on 40 Meters but they couldn't hear me. Thanks for KF6C in CA for sticking with me to make the 2368 mile QSO on 40 Meters. Had fun as usual and hope the log totals over 150 entries. GL & 72 to All. DE K2ZD # 8316
K8RJW - Happy 150th !!!!! .
W4MPS - I don't know why I don't do these more often. Always fun and always great Ops. A few struggles due to QRN here but overall condx were not bad. My target was 40 Q's and wound up with 51, all on 80 and 40. I never did get to 20. So I'm pleased. Rig here was a KX3, battery powered to an 80 meter horizontal loop at 40 Ft. I used my 1909 British telegraph straight key which was also a lot of fun (I'm a little sloppy though). Tnx to all for a great sprint.
NN0SS - 20 meters open to to SE USA for first 1/2 hour frm MN. Tnx to all for the QSO's and a great time. .
N7KM - Due to other commitments I was only able to catch the last 25 minutes of the sprint. I was delighted to find the band in excellent shape and so many operators available to work. Thanks to those who do all the work to make this possible. I just acquired an old J37 WW2 straight key and it is sweet, the J38 may not see much future action.
VE1JFA - This was my first time on the air since 1999. A big thank you to my contacts for bearing with me. I used the Macintosh spreadsheet. Thanks for providing that. .
N3NFL - I hope we got 150 people - I wasn't able to spend any time but got 1 contact .
AK4NY - I was surprised at the amount of activity on 40 considering band conditions were poor - I operated about 45 minutes was pretty much in solid qso, a lot of QRM but wow it was fun. Offer a little money and everyone wants a chance to win. Great sprint - hope to catch you on the air during the month 72/73 de Tom
W3PNM - My first Sprint. I had a ball! .
N8LA - KX-3; 5W; 200' Dipole @ 35'; Western Union 2A Legless Hand Key. Bands gave me a lot of static. Why should they be any different than many of the people in my life? Still able to make contacts on all three bands. Again, my apologies to those I was not able to pull out of the static. Maybe I should "seek their forgiveness", since this week is Passover and Holy Week. Discovered that Dr. Sigmund Fraud wrote an article about our sessions in The Middle Mongolian Journal of Psycho Analysis. He referred to me as "Nate La." Right! 72, and here's hoping for 150! Lou, N8LA/QRP (mostly)
N8LR - My first time entering this contest. Thanks! 73, Gary .
W5WIL - 40m seemed to get better as we went along so I stayed there. IC703 with KK1 key. 73 . .Dennis .
KB1M - Had a fun night, 40 was tightly packed with sprinters, it seemed to be a very large turnout for the 150th sprint, congratulations to the hard workers at the NAQCC. 73, Walt
CG3FUJ - I WAS DETERMINED TO GET AT LEAST 1 QSO IN THE TIME ALLOTTED. CONDX WERE NOT GOOD A RAPID QSB THAT MADE YOU MISS HALF THE CHARACTERS OF A LETTER. THE NOISE LEVEL WAS TOLERABLE BUT NOT THE QSB. BRION 3011
W9PZ - Congrats to K1SWL for getting an NAQCC number (after the cutoff) and entering this contest!! I did the best that I have ever done in this contest. Not sure that I can do better without better conditions and more bands open. I think that our Illowa NAQCC chapter is going to do well in this 150th sprint: NN9K, W9PZ, KD9VT and K0NIA.
N3RN - Congrats on the 150th sprint. I may have submitted one log previous to this, but this is the first time I spent the whole two hours. i hope I changed bands in the log when needed. Not used to doing that. .
AA8SN - I know that the call AC8RL is incorrect along with the number (0124z) but I include it because someone out there copied me correctly and made the contact! Also, I entered the log after the contest. I made the best shot at getting the times right but they might be off by a couple minutes. Wow, am I ever rusty at cw!
KC2MJT - Got on for half an hour last night. Although I could hear a few very strong QSOs on 40m coming in from the southern US, I did not hear any NA call. Called CQ for 10 minutes on 40m which didn't reel in a single call. Very heavy noise at my location, the band sounded like screaming banshees. Same on 80m. 20M was relatively quiet but despite calling CQ for 5 minutes no luck. Guess it was one of those days. Sounded like some members had pretty good conditions. Next time! .
N5GW - KX3 at 5W to HB tuner, CFZ and rake tine straight key. A pleasant surprise: 20M was open, at least for the first half hour. Most Q's were on 40M which was noisy due to local storms, so I didn't even listen on 80M. Lots of QRPer's were heard for the 150th sprint celebration. S&P was employed, as I was afraid I wouldn't be able to copy some answers to my CQ's. I didn't fare well with multipliers, as seven of my first nine Q's were either NJ or NY! Only got OR and ID out west. Anyway it was fun.
WB1GYZ - Enjoyed being part of our 150th Sprint.
VE3RCN - Only had 30 minutes to contribute. .
NF1U - late start due to trying to use and understand Genlog. all in all condx seemed better than over the past weekend, .
N4MJ - Second log entry. Corrected log times. Forgot about time change.
KG6UBG - 40M from W6 land only open band. Prob missed some stns, heard them but didn't log them. .
K4KAY - first time, was a lot of fun .
WI5H - The homebrewed panadapter told me there were more stations than normal in the sprint. I worked half of my contacts on 20 and half on 40. On 80 I could hear noise and a few QRO non-sprint stations only. Great fun with a few storms making noise and a new antenna in the mix. 72 CU AGN DIT DIT .
K0TC - Noise and QSB, but still lots of fun. .
WS4P - First of all, I'm not a contester, but just starting to give it a try. I think I tried a couple of these well over 5 years ago. I'm recovering from some major surgery back in March and just starting to get back on the air, so thought I'd give this a whirl.I became very sleepy about a half hour in and decided to pull the plug and call it a night. I was on some traffic nets earlier in the evening and discovered I had forgotten to turn down my power! I started not to turn this in, but didn't want the contacts not to count for the folks I worked. I will be trying again next month... running just 5 watts! VY 72 ALL, Al, WS4P .
W2SH - Nice to find 20m open during the first half hour and it yielded six QSOs, all in a southerly direction. 40m was lively but after 45 minutes it also pooped out. 80m sigs were all strong but I heard nothing beyond 300 miles. Tentec 539 at 5W and a Junker straight key.
VE3DQN - More activity than I've ever heard on a sprint. Crowded even!
VE3IDS - Good to see lots of participation this month. The band closed down up here early and 80 didn't take up the slack. Thanks to all who I worked for listening extra hard. The sigs were pretty weak near the end. 72, Don VE3IDS
KQ1P - Happy 150th Sprint! 73 John
AB8RL - Only worked the sprint for one hour. 40 meters in good condition for most contacts 80 had a lot of static. Had fun which was most important. 73 to all from West Virginia
WU4B - My first sprint; my first use of GenLog. Very enjoyable.
KI4EZL - Lots of fun, not many on the air, nobody would come back, except 1. Will do it again. 73, KI4EZL
KI4EZK - I enjoyed playing even though there were not many to contact. I will be back though, next time, and hope for better conditions. 73, Char, KI4EZK.
KA1DBE - After replacing a faulty autotuner, I finally started making contacts. Bug was also out of adjustment from the move and was trying to adjust on the fly. Sorry for the sloppy CW. I really enjoy this sprint! 73 .
W3TS - RAN 80M ONLY UNTIL MY FIST GOT TOO TIRED! .
VE7HI - Used HB1B with Bencher straight key. Only 20M and the variables of propagation were at work! Only two QSO's-both in FL.--a decent QRP shot from this QTH. Nearly got a third with N4OW also in FL but QSB foiled us! Thanks for the sprint! CUL. .
W9ILF - Rig: Small Wonder Labs SW+ at 1.5 watts I got home very late from playing cello duets with a friend, but very happy to make a QSO in this milestone event. Happy Anniversary NAQCC Sprint! .
VE3SV - This is my first NAQCC Sprint in the last several years. My schedule makes it nearly impossible to operate during these contests but I wanted to be sure to make the milestone 150th event. I'm not looking to win the draw but hoping my very meager effort helps the group obtain at least 150 participants. One thing is for sure, I am very rusty on my cw but the ops I worked were great. Thanks for the fun guys!
AK3X - Got to play about 45 minutes on and off with other distractions... all on 40 meters. The band seemed good to me tonight. Mostly used my SWL DSW-40 at 3 watts, and a couple of QSOs with my MFJ9296 at 4 watts. A great 150th sprint for sure... wish I had more time to play. 72, Peter
K8AX - First Sprint in quite some time, lots of fun just hunting and pouncing.
KN4VV - First Sprint. Even though I didn't make many Qs, I had fun while practicing with straight key!
W2JEK - Was only on the last 45 minutes. Heard nothing on 20, went to 40 and band seemed long so made all qso's on 80. Rig Yaesu FT-*$) at 5W to end fed wire up 20 ft. Bunnell straight key. Was a lot of fun. 72 and 73 Don Younger W2JEK # 1135
AE4ZR - I RECEIVED MY MEMBERSHIP NUMBER DURING THE SPRINT. SRI GUYS FOR THE 5W INSTEAD OF 8936.
WA2DII - First time in sprint. Havent done CW in 50 years! Fun time , thanks
AA0W - Good conditions on 40
K9JWI - I heard/worked exactly two signals the entire two hours. Conditions/noise? .
AC8JW - Good to hear lots of stations tonight. Bands were pretty good which made for a fun event. Congratulations to NAQCC on a 150 sprints.
WB8LZG - Hello Sprinters! I was in Las Vegas during sprint. I let the XYL make the vacation plans, es didn't realize it was gg to conflict with sprint! AHHHHH ! Tuesday eve I was gg into "massive sprint withdrawls" ! Even the nite life es girls in Vegas can't compete with the fun in our sprints! Visiting my son es XYL in Ridgecrest , Cal. Funny thing, I didn't even know Ridgecrest existed a few yrs ago. Since then ive had QSO's with 3 hams in Ridgecrest. Small world indeed. Well i'm gg to have coffee es an "eyeball" with one of the this morning so it may ease my symptoms a bit. From the sounds of the Soapbox comments, I missed a gud one. Hope to be entirely "cured" by joining in the fun next month! See u all then! 73 Gregg WB8LZG
K6MGO - 20m was closed, and 40m didn't open for almost an hour, but then it just got better and better with lots of signals heard near the end. Using my K3 to my indoor doublet as usual and was very nice with all of the guys on the air, including Fox Hunters. Nice turn-out hope to see you all next month. 72, Bill
VE3GNU - I didn't realize that this sprint was a significant number (150) until it was over, but am glad to know that I was there 'for the party'---been participating since 2006. Compliments to everyone for their participation and responses. Ernie VE3GNU
AC7FF - Had a really fun time, I'm looking forward to next month's sprint. Dave AC7FF
KJ4R - 40M full of signals here in SC but terrible sprint for me. My PC crashed twice and I finally just gave up after only 9 contacts. Hope to have the PC issues fixed by next month. Glad to see we went well beyond the 150 logs! 73 everyone.
WV8P - THANKS FOR HEARING MY SIGNALS
WA2FBN - Got late start on sprint, fun as always. LNR LD-5 at 5w. Getting used to my new Palm Single paddle. Tnx to all who copied me. 72 Ken .
N2CX - Getting back into sprints. Blasted brain with 3000+ Q's in NPOTA last year. .
K1IX - Ton of fun dusted off the bug a bit. Good signals & participation. 72, Frank
NX8Y - Band in pretty good shape. Enjoyed it. Tnx to all for the QSO's. Only lost one because of QRM. 150 Sprints!!...Congrats to NAQCC. 72, Ron NX8Y
W4KRN - Good signals on 20m, but not many stations to be found. Most contacts were on 80m. Thanks for all the contacts. 72
