SOAPBOX:
KG4IKQ - Been gone awhile. Gave up. Don't need the frustration again of stations starting up without a QRL? right on top of me time after time. But good luck and happy hunting all.
W1TM - It was a night of QSB and QRN here in Kansas. I lost patience, but logged a couple QSO's
K4KBL - Mostly 20 meters since 40 was a noise maker tonight. New antenna EFHW did very well with contacts in WY, CO, and CA. Got to work our club president tonight as well !
WG8Y - Short night tonite.Started a little late and pulled the plug 0126Z.
On 20m I worked WY,UT,KS & OK then went to 40m for another 8 Q's.
Hope everyone had a good Sprint.
72 from N.C. Mark WG8Y
KD7DUG - my first 30 minutes on 20 meters was great , west coast to east coast. Had to QSY a few times. the fish stopped biting and ended up with 5 QSOs
N2TNN - great band conditions and great to hear everyone tonight. 73 Dean
KE3V - Had a good time tonight with my QMX and bug until the storms got too close. The grass will love the rain.
N9EEE - That was different...everything on 20m was from the West...everything on 40m was from the East. Its great to be in the middle :)
W4CMG - fun event. I got to play longer than usual in fairly good conditions.
KN2G - I quit a few minutes early and unloaded some kayaks with my son. My new word for the night is the conditions were "struggley" at my location... The noise slowly climbed from 7 to +9 and made every contact a struggle and the static way worse than its normal pleasant cough. I heard many in the noise, just not distinct enough to work. 2 on 20, 10 on 40 and 0 on 80. 72 ken
KC5F - 20m was good when I heard anyone, but I didn't hear that many. 40 was noisier but much better, with most of my QSOs. I managed a few on 80m at the end, including NH, although it was even noisier. Lots of fun, as always - Thanks!
K9QEW - All OPS on 40m using my HB rockbound "Funmitter". Condx
poor to fair which made operations very challenging but
fun. 72/73s STAY TUNED! Daryl
AF4PX - 20 was good, but 40 was better as the night progressed. Tnx to all, and sorry about thr few i just couldn't pull out.
Great fun!
WD4CFN - Always fun! Thanks for the Q's
K3JZD - Not a great evening here in WPA. Very noisy thunderstorm with a lot of lightening kept chasing me off of the air. During the few short periods that I did get on, the noise level made copy difficult. Had to give up on several callers - sorry about that. See you next month. 72, Jody - K3JZD
KN1H - A great evening on 20M. Logged several members for the first time ever, always a treat! By contrast, all the Q-signals were needed to adequately describe conditions on 40 and 80! Still, several of the stalwarts pulled me out of the noise, thanks to all! 72, John, KN1H
KI4MZC - Well, I got to the party late but had a great time, especially on 40. I added "es qrp" to my exchange for the first few q's as is my wont 'cause I thought I was in a "big-boy's" contest (because of all of the CQ NA's I was hearing) then realized we were all QRP, heh heh. Thank you to my very rare GA QSo's K4BAI and AF4PX and to all of you for the great night. 72
de KI4MZC
N4MJ - Late start. Quiet evening on the bands - summertime, everyone busy elsewhere. HI
Tnx to all participants.
VE3DQN - After missing a month it's good to be back at the Sprint. Sluggish cndx this evening; didn't hear the signals I usually hear.
NF8M - Op time 30 min. On late after a family visit and needed to recover from a self-inflicted power problem. Good to hear so much activity and several worked for the first time. 72
K3RLL - QRP is so much more fun here in PA with an actual outdoor antenna. Lots of stations on 20m but few contacts. 40m seemed empty but enjoyed a nice run until the lightning storm got a little too close. Time to pull the plug! Thanks for the contacts. 72, ... Don
N5BO - Split time between operating from the mobile and at home, thanks all for the QSO's!
N9JFZ - Had a good time, most contacts on 40, just 2 on 20 meters. Tried 80 with no luck.
72 All, Rusty
K2OID - Missed June sprint, so nice to be back. Condx on 40 were OK except for the QRN. Thanks to Dave, KD2DK for sticking with it during our QSO when the local QRN was particularly bad. Missed the first 40 minutes this month, but still had lots of fun.
N7KM - Fun time on 20 meters. Great fists and good signals. I was using my little TR-35 [I built about a year ago] and I'm impressed. What a great receiver and the narrow filter is perfect for crowded bands. After 20 died I went to 40 without many contacts. I was under our fruit trees in our back yard using a picnic table, a bit warm and lots of bugs but still great fun. thanks to those who keep these sprints going, it's a lot of work and you are appreciated. 72, Ken N7KM just North West of Zion National Park in South West Utah.
KF7Z - Great signals early on 20 meter, sorry AA0W I had your call but then you dropped off into the static and I couldn't get you back, maybe next time. Many strong reports from the east coast tonight. Elecraft K3s turned down to 5 watts to a dipole up 25ft.Always a fun sprint and nice to hear John,K4BAI down in GA. 72 my friends
Danny
K1DW - Good fun...
WX4RM - Lots of QRN on 20 resulted in only making contacts on 40 Meters tonight. Had fun as always.
K4KRW - Very noisy tonight.
KA6J - The bands here started out good, then went flat about an hour into the sprint. Started on 20, then moved to 40. Cycle 25 where are you?
KK4ITX - Good night for me, warmed up with the Flying Pigs Walk for the Bacon and got the kinks out. Lots of signals with some QSB. Lost one, went from an S9 to totally gone before I could get confirmation. Thanks to Mark WB9HFK for reminding folks through other club emails!! All on a 1/8w HB Vertical tri-pod mounted @ 4w.
KA2KGP - A pretty good NA Sprint. 20 & 80 were nil but 40m was the band to use here in WNY. Rig: IC-700 at 5w. into a G5RV up 20 ft. w/ old WWII German Junkers Straight Key. 73 & keep cool !
W4MPS - Bands were challenging at the beginning but perked up a bit. I have no idea why I don't participate more often. Fun sprint. Great to work John, K4BAI. He's everywhere; a living legend HI.
72
Marc, W4MPS (NC)
WB8ENE - It's been a while since my last sprint. I made all of my contacts on 40 meters. I switched between using a keyboard and a Bencher paddle. Thanks for the contacts. 73, Art
K4BAI - 20M seemed to be OK, but QSOs were hard to find. 40M had high QRN. Overall, activity seemed a bit down. Didn't try 80M due to QRN on 40M and that may have been a mistake. Sorry for a few that I couldn't putt out of the noise. Thanks for all QSOs. 73/72, John, K4BAI.
K4JPN - Heavy QRN on 40M and 20M took out the bands for me. 72 Steve K4JPN
W2SH - 20m stayed open for almost 45 minutes and although I didn't achieve any QSOs to the pacific coast, I did work stations in UT and WY. 40m was active. I didn't try 80m.
N5GW - I was using a home made bug named "Smorgasbug". I hope to write it up for the newsletter. During the sprint it worked well, but the bands were not in great shape.
K4WY - Squeezed in one QSO before a massive thunderstorm forced a hurried shutdown.
W8GG - Hello Fellow Sprinters ! Gud nite fer a sprint. I used a J-38 to pound out the Morse tonight. 20 was open at the start and i grabbed N7KM in UT es KF7Z in WY before moving to 40m. 40 was VY busy with stns. I think there may have been another contest?? I don't have the Umpah on 40 I used to. Had to take down my 40/ 80 trap dipole. Now using a 10/15/20 trap dipole on all bands. Wrapped it up for the night after an hour of fun. Tns fer several of you who stayed with me through repeats. Hope to hear all of u next month. 73 Gregg W8GG
AA0W - Conditions best on 20 Meters. Storms blocked signals on 40 Meters. To KF7Z the door closed on this end also, CU next time.
AI5BE - Sadly had to cut it short due to bad WX, but I still had a little fun.
NF1U - RECENTLY MOVED FROM CT TO FL AND NOW IN A HOA SENIOR COMMUNITY(NO ANTENNAS) JUST SET UP A STATION IN VEHICLE RUNNING FT891 AT 5W WITH THE SCREWDRIVER ANTENNA. LAST NIGHT HEARD A FEW OTHER STATIONS BUT WAS UNABLE TO REACH THEM. I REMAINED STATIONARY IN AN EMPTY PARKING LOT.
GOING TO CONTINUE THIS METHOD FOR SPRINTS AND CHALLENGE UNTIL I CAN FIND A BETTER ANTENNA SITUATION. ALL IN ALL WAS STILL FUN JUST BEING BACK ON AIR.
VE3IIM - 20m was the best band for me. Many new calls for me!
NA1L - Whew! Touch night will all the atmospheric noise! Thank you to those who held in there!
KC3MIO - I was tired and a little under the weather and wasn't sure if I wanted to join the sprint, but I turned the radio on and heard N7KM and persevered until my wife told me that she heard thunder around 0135. Glad that I participated even for 45 minutes. Icom 7300 @ 5watts into 288' loop up 30', with CW Morse Camelback straight key.
73/72
Rich
WA1GWH - Pretty noisy conditions on 40 and not too many ops. From here near Syracuse, NY I did work out to MN (NN0SS TU!). Thanks for the contacts!
