SOAPBOX:

K3RLL - 20m - weak and sparse signals here into this chilly corner of the Sunshine State. Glad to get two nice contacts there. 40m - Solid band conditions, lots of signals and lots of fun tonight. Always good when able to contact my former PA neighbor and computer mentor, K3JZD. Great night. Thanks for the nice contacts. 72, ... Don

K4KBL - Fun for the first hour the 40 meters seemed to almost disappear. Had a great time working friends both new and old !!

N0VA - Very little Time sadly and only 2 CQNA's heard and only caught 1. Operated on FTDX3000 and 1919 Blue Racer, a really fun key to use.

WD4CFN - Thanks to all for a fun sprint! Also, thanks for putting up with my inexperienced bug fist!

NO2D - Delighted to run into a couple of on line friends tonight. 40 meters seemed wide open with good signals. Next month I hope to get my old Lafayette straight key in action. I enjoy the sprints. Thanks to those who work so hard to make sure they happen. Pete, NO2D.

K1IX - Some very strong sig's tonight & a little QRM and the 0300 contest killed the last half hour but still had fun. Thanks for the Q's 73

KN1H - Thanks for the fun Sprint and Happy New Year to all! Tonight we are camped in the desert near Quartzsite, AZ. Used the KX-2 with a straight key running off of a battery. Had planned to put up the EFHW but time did not permit- by the time camp was set up only minutes remained before the Sprint-so put up the quick 24' wire which worked great tonight on 20M and OK on 40. Thanks to K4BAI and K0LAR for the 2-band-Qs! Sorry will miss the 160 Sprint, the KX-2 does not have 160. Good luck to all! 72, John, KN1H/7

WB1GYZ - High speed contest took over our operating slot toward the end. Hey N0VA, what's the chance we both have 1919 Blue Racer bugs?

W9DWR - 40m seemed good tonight. 4 of 7 contacts from IL were in GA. Had a tough one, but rewarding one to VT. Thanks for the contacts!

WD4OHD - Pretty nice quiet conditions on 40m until about 0300 UTC when the band exploded with QRM. Made some good contacts until then even though my 40m dipole is still barely off the ground. Improvements to it will have to wait for warmer weather. A fun sprint tonight for the first hour or so. Thanks to all.

NA4O - Outdoor antenna down due to fallen tree in snow, so on a 20M link dipole inside loaded on 40M via tuner. Glad be heard at all! 5W from KX3 with Vibroplex Straight Key. At least a start for 2025.

N5ZN - SOME QSB, GOOD SIGNAL. GOT BUSY.

WG8Y - HI all, Started late. Did catch AI6SL, Wolf in CA. on 20m.Heard a couple others but they didn't hear me. On to 40m which was in pretty gud shape. I went up the band a few times then got blasted off by the Oh so NOT considerate CW Op Guys. Managed one more Q but said enough of this and went to 80M. Had to switch radios as the Mountain topper,MTR3B Curehee only does 15 thru 40M, which is ok. Made one Q om 80m and pulled the plug. Short nite for me on both ends of the Sprint but still had fun. 72 all From N.C. Mark WG8Y

AF4PX - Thank you WD4OHD for hanging in there!

VE3FUJ - It was a short session as I only had 1/2 hr. Brion

K9QEW - 40 meter operations only. Some QRN but band condx good. 72/73s & STAY TUNED! Daryl

K7EK - Pretty rough going, and even rougher once the mind numbed CWOPS walking dead came on, destroying everything in their path.

K3IY - Running 40M worked well until about 10pm I stopped getting responses. Switched to 80M did some S&P and finished out the night. Great contest!

KN2G - First off, lost N4JAW sorry! The conditions were challenging on all bands here. I heard several raking in the contacts. I am happy for those who did. I decided to only graze like an old Holstein tonight. hehehe. Managed 19 with search and pounce only. See you on 160 next week!

AI6SL - 20m started out good. Then dinner intervened. Got back on 40m until CWT took over. It's been a while since my last sprint. Was great fun.

N4MJ - Fun evening until CWT began at 0300Z. Several new calls. Tnx for the Qs. 73 de n4mj//glenn

K3JZD - 40m until the CWT started. Then to a rather noisy 80m. I was hearing New England stations on 40m for a change. It has been several months since that has happened. I guess I just had to wait until it snowed and got down to 10 degrees. K4 at 5W, 40m dipole & 107' EFRW. 72, Jody - K3JZD

K3ES - Big fun on 40m until CWTs started. Then big fun on 80m.

WX4RM - Made only 1 contact on 20 meters, but it was finally with the other coast into California, so I was happy. My other contacts were all on 40 meters, which had good strong signals. Had fun as always.

KK4ITX - 20 was long, nothing heard. 40m was a solid S7+, 80 had some chatter but no response. I did hear Jerry K4KBL and Brent WT4U and lost them in QSB. Gotta do something for 40m antennas.

K4KRW - My main rig is in the shop, so I exercised some of my QRP kits. I started out with an HW-9. Talk about a humbling experience. That front end is as wide as a barn door. I got so frustrated I sent Alan K1MZM my SKCC number. I got one contact on 40m and one on 80m. Then I switched to my ME-40 which is like a SW-40. That was much better. I got about 4 contacts on that. I tried my Hilltopper 40, but the CWT had started by that time and 40 got wiped out. I ended with my Sierra and added two more contacts on 80m. The Sierra was the best of the bunch tonight. I wish I had tried the Hilltopper earlier in the night. It has a nice receiver. Thanks everyone! Richard - K4KRW

AI5BE - Hopefully have more time next month.

AA4BW - Tonight was the first time I've participated in one of these sprints, and it was a great deal of fun! I used a TR-35 (turned up to a whopping 4 watts) which my wife had given me as a birthday present; the key was an old WW2 hand key that I've had for years. I heard just one station on 20, but the signal was very feathery and we couldn't pull it off. Forty meters was better here until 0300. It was great fun to work several stations I recognized from POTA adventures. All in all, what a delightful way to spend a couple of hours on a cold January evening. Thanks to everyone, and I look forward to the next time!

NF8M - Op time abt 1/2 hr. FB sigs tonite on 40m. Didn't hear anyone on 80 but the traffic nets. 72 es cu on topband next week.

K2OID - Tough night. 20M dead, 40M was fair until the CWT contest started and wiped all us QRPers out. Still fun though.

N9JFZ - My first NAQCC Sprint, looking forward to many more. 73, N9JFZ, Rusty

N9EEE - I've been off air for a few months so it was nice to be back. Nobody came back to my call on 20m. Shifted to 40m...some strong, some weak signals. Was running and holding frequency, then the CWTs started and I called it a night. I didn't have it in me to jump into that. TNX everyone for a fun evening.

N7QR - 87th KX3, 1958 Vibroplex Presentation, last hour a lot of stations calling test Russ Portland OR

K5ZU - 40 was fb for the 1st hour and then went south. Using my OHR 400 and Brown Bros. ST wid 5 watts out.

KE5YUM - Propagation did not favor me this month. No contacts though many CQs were sent. Many QRO signals but no NA. Hopefully we will have better conditions next month. Terry FT 710 @ 5 watts and a CWMORSE camelback key.

KA6J - Tough conditions tonight here in central TX. Very few signals on 20 and not many NA signals on 40. No antenna for 80 here so stuck to 20 and 40. Used the FTDX-10 at 5W to the ground mounted 4BTV with 25 radials. Hope to hear more next sprint!

W8GG - Hello fellow sprinters ! Fair condx here in WCF last night. 20m was just folding as the sprint started. I worked a few Flying Pigs on 40 before the sprint and sig were good. 40 was very busy with several groups vying for those precious kilohertz. A bit noisy also wid some QSB on many. Had a pipeline to GA, es skip seemed short. Had to QRT at 8pm due to other stuff, but managed 6 QSOs. See u next time, dit dit 73 Gregg W8GG

KB2GKC - Glad to see a busy night 40m....Love the challenge. see you next month

WA2FBN - Only operated 40m. Band noisy, but signals strong. Always fun to operate these sprints. 72 Ken WA2FBN

KO4WFP - This was a blast! I had to pry my fingers off the straight key at 9:30 as it was time to head to bed. I look forward to next month's sprint!

K4BAI - This was one of my best NAQCC Sprints in a long time. 20M was very long, but did work KN1H from his portable location in AZ (and also worked him on 40M later). 40M was quite busy, but skip zone was fairly long and I missed anything in the fourth call area closer than FL, KY, and VA. KC7DM in OR was probably the best "DX." 80M was also pretty good and enabled me to pick up mults from GA and TN. Thanks for all QSOs. The conflict with the CWT beginning at 0300Z won't occur often due to some of our Sprints being on Tuesday nights and maybe the change of time. But, when it does, those with 80M antennas should try 80 (or 20). Also try the upper 15 kHz of the 40M band (7110 to 7125 kHz). There will be no CWT activity there and some QRP activity often uses those frequencies at other hours, such as 4S QRP group Second Sunday Sprint and FP WFTB. QSSOs by band: 10M: 1. 40M: 38. 80M: 9. Stations worked on 80M were from the call areas 3, 4, 9, and 0, so 80M is rich for new QSOs and new mults. 73/72, John, K4BAI.

WT4U - This was a weird one for me with the bands seeming dead but people kept answering me. Some stations were just on the edge of the noise, but with enough repetitions and surfing the QSB, we got there. Thanks to all the patient ops! Tickled to work a lot of the regulars, plus several new ops, including Rusty N9JFZ #12006, who joined on Tuesday.

KA2KGP - Another good NA Sprint. 20m. was nil, but 40 & 80 were good here in WNY. Rig: IC-7000 at 5 w. into a G5RV up 25 ft. w/ old WWII German Junkers straight key. 73 & keep warm !

W0ITT - My first sprint in a while, nice to be back. First half hour was difficult (I actually wondered if my radio was working). Thanks to early K4KBL and K4BAI QSO's for keeping my spirits up. The rest was fun until the contest started at 0300Z :-( The rest was good until the contest at 0300Z.

KC2EGL - Another fun evening calling CQ in search of fellow NAQCC operators. Wasn't very successful with only three QSO"s, but had fun anyway. Thanks for those who logged me. de Mike KC2EGL, 73

VE3IIM - 40m was pretty good tonight. Worked many new calls. Overall, conditions good..

WA1GWH - Rather difficult 40m band conditions last night from here in central New York state. Signal strength was up and down. Not too many ops heard. Maybe most were down on 80m. 72 and thanks for the contacts!

K4JPN - Got a late start, 0200Z and worked only one station, thanks K5ZU. Listened and called on 80M, 40M and 20M but no luck. Wait till next month. 73, Steve K4JPN

KQ1P - Fun and worked a new member (for me).

K0LAR - I had an hour before bed. I was only on the first hour. I have not been on in a long time. I had a blast!!!!!

KB1M - Sprinters heard me much better than Reverse Beacon did. Always a fun night,Tnxs for Q's. 72 Walt

K9NUD - I only had a few minutes but didn't want to miss a month :-)

WB0CJB - 40M started out good but the last hour was taken over by the CWT. Switched up to 80M and was able to work a few stations. Looking forward to seeing everyone next month. 73/72 de WB0CJB

N8LA - KX-3, 5W, NAQCCode Warrior with W8GG finger pieces wired as dual paddle side swiper by AD0BI. 200 ft. Dipole @ 35 ft. Thought would just get on for a few minutes but stayed on for entire Sprint! Must be an addiction! Only noise on 20. Noise on 40, but able to work eight stations. Went to 80. Relatively quiet. Go figure! Worked four on 80. Thanks for the contacts. Hope to see you next month. Best 72 to all. Lou N8LA

N2TNN - Trouble getting going

W2SH - The only station heard and worked on 20m was KN1H who found refuge in Arizona from the cold New Hampshire winter weather. 40m and 80m were active.

AK3X - Late start and early finish but had fun while it lasted.

N5GW - Only heard/worked one station on 20M (KN1H who was way down in AZ). All other contacts were on 40M. Here in MS the wx was nice except for some local QRN on 80M, so did not try that band.

KC3MIO - Icom 7300 @ 5W into 288' loop at about 30'. Got a late start and heard nothing copyable on 20. Made first contact on 40 at 0151 and only had 9 almost an hour later. But luckily, 80 was good and active until the very end. Signals were solid in general. Hope to get on the 160 sprint which is always a challenge. 73/72 and Happy New Year all.
