Soapbox:
K3WWP - That was the easiest challenge for me in several months now - finished on the 10th at 1739Z. Then I decided that was too easy, and I re-did it using only DX calls. Actually that was really too easy also because conditions are so great right now. Finished that on the 14th at 2322Z. Maybe I should do it again using only Asian stations. HI. No, I think I'll let it go at this. It should point out to anyone who has trouble working DX, that right now it is not all that hard. If I can do it with simple wire antennas either in my attic, or mounted on the side of my house or the porch roof from a location in a river valley, then YOU can do it too - I guarantee. So get out there and work that DX while it is so easy. It won't always be so.

W9UX - Almost did an all DX challenge but wanted to get what I have turned in. Wasn't that hard to do with all the dx on the bands. 72, Terry

KD6SX - This was a fun challenge. Just got my QRP rig fixed so it was fun to get back in the game again. My congratulations to W9UX for completing almost all of his challenge with DX! Glad conditions are improving nowadays.

N8XMS - A busy month made for a slow start on the challenge but some time off for Thanksgiving gave me the chance to hunt down the remaining letters that I needed. Hosting the family for Thanksgiving meant a 4AM start for us. In between assigned tasks from my wife I turned on the radio and managed to work E51MAN about an hour before local sunrise. I didn't need any of the letters but it sure was a thrill to work into the south Pacific with QRP on 40-meters! There are a lot of things to be thankful for - including sunspots! I hope all of you have a really blessed holiday season. 73, Paul

KF7EST - Missed completing all the words by 4 letters (an I, L, S, and Y) None of the letters used were from the Sprint. Enjoyed all the Q's and the challenge very much, all was done with my K-1 at 5-Watts into a Vertical. 73, Allen

VE3FUJ - Even though I didn't make it all, The last "T" and "Z" in Maize just wasn't in the cards. In spite of that I enjoyed this month Challenge even though I had to scramble some, as I had a lot of antenna down time due to change over from one tower to another. The last week or so I was stuck on 30, my 40 dipole needed repair and my vertical is in dire need of new Coax, I think I'm loosing 99.9999% of my 5W in the coax, and its only abt. 20ft long, I've had it for 40 yrs and it was old when I got it. My G5RV also need some repairs, it was in a worse shape than first thought, It sounds like I've been neglecting things, I guess I have. But I'm now working on it. I also hope Santa will bring me a new G5RV. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Brion

K1IEE - Challenge was a great reason to get on the air. Enjoy this type of challenge, fun time. Thanks to all 73 Dick

W2JEK - This was a good challenge. The letter 'i' was the most difficult and went down to the wire with a qso with f5in on 80m on Nov. 30. 72 and 73 Don Younger W2JEK #1135

PREMISE:
This is the 8th running of our popular Thanksgiving challenge. This was our very first challenge back in 2004 when challenges were still called events. Back then all you needed to do was make the word TURKEY to master the event. Each November since then we've come up with a slightly different word list of items relating to Thanksgiving for you to complete. So make plans now, set up your check sheet and go to it. NOTE: We had originally scheduled a different challenge this month, but decided at the last minute to go back to our traditional Thanksgiving challenge.

TIME FRAME:
The first day of the month 0000Z through the last day of the month 2400Z

RULES:
Simply make all the words in the list below from the calls of stations you work to master the challenge. NO contest or sprint QSO's allowed with one exception. You may get up to 10 letters from QSOs in our NAQCC sprint ONLY IF you need them to finish the challenge. QSO's must be made using CW and QRP.

THANKSGIVING
PILGRIMS
TURKEY
INDIANS
PLYMOUTH ROCK
MAIZE
MAYFLOWER

For reference, the following 22 letters are contained somewhere in the words:
A C D E F G H I K L M N O P R S T U V W Y Z

You can use each letter in a call TWICE. For example you could use K3WWP for 2 K's, 4 W's, and 2 P's.

Subsequent QSO's with the same station cannot be used for additional letters. For example, no matter how many times you work K3WWP, you can only use his call for 8 of the letters in the words.

See the Alphabet Tutorial page for an excellent way to track any and all of our alphabet type challenges.

AWARDS:
A certificate goes to anyone making all the words.

PARTICIPATION AWARD AND WEB LISTING:
To get a Participation Point and to be listed in the results you must make at least one word.

LOGS:
For your report, list the words you made and the station used for each letter in the word. The number of stations listed must be the same as the number of letters in each word, even though you use the same station for more than one letter as in:

WORD - K3WWP, N2OD, WA8REI, N2OD

Note how N2OD is listed for both the O and D.

You may also include comments about the challenge. Please preface any comments you want posted with "SOAPBOX:" so we will know what you want posted and what is private.
