SOAPBOX:
W1BLU - Disappointing that the Kp-index went up just in time for the sprint, (solar cndx got worse all the way around). Still... 1 QSO beats zero QSOs. 72 y'all. GL
K4KBL - Only on for an hour tonight with all contacts on 20 with the exception of 4 on 40 meters. The noise level here on 40 was through the roof, just terrible.
Had a great time as always !!
N1OI - Bands seemed in good shape, but the wind was causing issues with the antenna, something must have loosened up, but still tons of fun!
K3RLL - Great evening on 20m. Lots of participation and some strong signals (never mine, however ;-) but QSB could get wicked at times. Had a good run (don't get those all the time these days. Fun evening! Great to work long-time NAQCC friends this evening. Thank you.
72, ... Don
N4MJ - Multiple issues here tonight - storms took down my 40' tower and dipole antennas I normally use. Makeshift antenna tonight is only 15' in the air at center, lower on ends. Also, tonight is the weekly Tuesday night Fox Hunt so had to split time and info. Did work both Foxii. This was the last Fox Hunt on 40m for the season. Could the NAQCC Sprint be held on Wednesday evenings? Fox Hunts are Tues on 40m and Thurs on 80m during winter season. In summer season we go on 20m. Tnx to all participants. It has been a long day and I gotta get out of here. 73 de n4mj//glenn
NO2D - Same nite as last 40 Meter fox hunt of the 2024-25 season. That came first and only enough energy for one NAQCC contact. Thanks to KJ4R, Eddie. Pete, NO2D
NF8M - Op time about 1 hr. Nice to hear activity and gud sigs on 20m. Worked what I could hear - some vy fb sigs tonite. 72 til next month.
KF7Z - Pretty good conditions tonight here in Wyoming, I got started a little late but 20 meters was pretty busy when I turned on the radio, Thanks for all the Qsos. Elecraft K3s turned down to 5w to a 20 meter dipole up 25'. AI5BE your info did not pull up when I entered you call, I had to pay attention to get your info.73 my friends, see you next month
Danny
N8HWV - Lotta fun. Been a while since I've worked more than 15 minutes. Thanks for the Q's.
KC5F - Half-and-half 20m and 40m, but nothing on 80m. Nice signals tonight, with decent conditions and lots of folks on both 20m and 40m. Lots of fun, as usual. Thanks, all!
NA4O - Both 20 and 40 were in good shape here with some qsb. KX3 at 5W, Vibroplex Straight key. It was a good mix of familiar contacts and some new ones. Thanks to all. It takes two for every qso!
K4KRW - Thanks everyone. Fun night. There was one station at the end that I just could not pull out of the noise. Sorry I missed you. 73, Richard
WG8Y - HI all, Worked 4 Q's on 40m and thought I better check 20m. Wow! Best 20m band open for me in awhile. First 20m Q was K3RLL, Don in FL with a good signal.I don't usually hear Don well on 40m but tonite 20m was the place to be. Went back to 40m and caught 4 more Q's. Was using my K1 tonite so no 80m. mine has 15,20,30 & 40m, so went back to 20m at 0200z for a listen. Called and worked WY & OR. Fun evening. Hope everyone enjoyed the Sprint.
72 from N.C. Mark WG8Y
KN1H - Missed the first hour due to a prior commitment, found conditions fairly mellow on 40 and comatose on 80. Welcome to new member Ron, NC0Q. We didn't complete our QSO as something catastrophic happened mid-exchange. Hope it's not too serious, will try again next month!
72, John, KN1H
K6FA - Been a couple years since last time operated contest. Was fun using my K3 at 5 watts and 3 element yagi up 60 feet. Maybe next time I will use either my K1 or K2 to a vertical.
K2OID - Good condx on both 20 and 40 tonight. Also worked several of you on both bands. Great fun always.
K4EXA - This was my first NAQCC sprint - I was only able to take part for a short time, but I had fun! 72 es CUL!
K3JZD - Not much joy on 20m here. 20m was better during last night's Spartan Sprint QRP event. 40m was noisy but my bhi Noise Eliminating Module tamed it. 40m got kind of strange at the very end - then along came K6FA in CA so I guess the strangeness was the band going long on me. Used my dusty Begali Blade tonight - I had been using a side swiper for a while so it took a while to get back to using the Blade. K2 - 5w - Dipole & EFRW 72, Jody
KC3RN - SLow night tonight, and had to stop after the first hour.
W4NLT - That was fun. Lots of action on 20M with DX to WY. Good to see the QRP faithful out there. Thanks for the QSOs 72 Andy
KG5OWB - Fun sprint with very good condx on 20m. KX2@5W into a 29ft wire at a local park. Heard some nice fists tonight! Tnx QSOs!
N2TNN - What a great nite on the bands Thank ya'll for being out there and thanks for hearing the old bug
K8NGW - Wow ... 20 meters was hot tonight although most checked out by 01:15. 40 meters was also good but not as many signals. Went up to 80 meters and no one was home! Not a single signal. With 10 minutes left, I went back up to 20 and worked Danny in WY and then back to 40 for two more. What fun! See you all next month.
AI5BE - Had fun as always. Looking forward to the next one. High winds snapped my 40 meter EFHW, but I was able to cut it down to 20 meters just in time for the sprint so I missed out on 40 meters for this one.
N7QR - 90th sprint KX3 BY1 into a K1EL keyer in bug mode for 1.5
hours, 80 just static, 20 was good. Russ Portland OR
WX4RM - Conditions on 20 and 40 were very good tonight, had fun as always.
NC0Q - This was great fun. A lot of good fists on straight keys out there, and a lot of good, patient operators who put up with me flubbing every QSO on my paddle. Looking forward to the next one!
KD7DUG - I used QMX with an Elecraft AX-2 Antenna with a 13' radial. This was my NAQCC First contact and exchange of member #
W8GG - Hello Fello Sprinters ! Gud condx fer sprint last nite. i fired up teh FT857 at 5w powered by a new 50 ah LiPoFe battery, to gnd mnt vertical wid 10 radials, es trusty Bunnell J-38 key. 20m was open nicely es stayed open mosy of the sprint. i went to 40m after 1st hour but only got 1 QSO there. High noise level, sent me back to 20m. Very busy on 40m , i think we had a FOX HUNT too as there were several small pile-ups. Nice to hear a bunch of new high numbers out there. Plus old friends too. Last sprint from the Fla QTH this year. Back to Mich. by end of month. Id like to thank the 4-Landers fer letting me play radio in their territory fer the winter. Looking fwd to 8-land agn. es playing some more POTA this summer. Tns to all who called me, es those who tried. Until next month,73, Gregg W8GG
K1IX - Good condx and good activity, thanks for all the Q's 72 Frank
KB2GKC - Great conditions on 40m....thanks to everyone!
KA2KGP - Terrible band conditions here in WNY. Only 2 QSO's on 20m. 8 on 40m. & Zero on 80m. Rig: IC-7000 into a G5RV up 20 ft. w/straight key. Hope for better bands next sprint. 73
AC1KV - Band condx were good tonight. Thanks for the Q's.
WT4U - Wore out my keying hand on crazy-hot 20m, which seemed to be reaching everywhere, and then turned down to 40m to hunt for a bit. Lots of signals there, but none of them were calling CQ NA.
KK4ITX - Using a new to me QMX+ at just 2w tonight, best night I have had in a long time. I attribute my low noise to running on 2 Li-ion batteries and staying off the mains. Thanks to N2TNN, WT4U, KC5F and WG8Y for being there among the many signals. Only worked for an hour+.
VA3NU - Conditions on 20M and 40M not too bad tonight.
IC7300 into 40M EFHW @ 25' Using homemade sideswiper as a key.
See you all next month. Larry 72
KA8VZB - Great conditions here in Northern Virginia on 40m. Took a break during the sprint to answer a CQ DX from I1MMR. We chatted for 10 minutes with me at 5W. QRP and a piece of wire at 20 feet does work!
KC3MIO - KX3 @ 5 watts into 288' loop up 30'. Started off well and made more contacts than I ever have on 20. Turned to 40 which was relatively quiet in NE PA. Went back to 20 and heard K6FA in CA and worked him. 80 was useless with a high noise level and no signals heard. I called CQ to no avail and then returned to 40 to wrap up the sprint. Checked my power and I was running 3.2 watts for half the sprint but that is not enough to make a difference. Tnx to all my contacts 73/72 Rich
W1TM - 20 was the hot band for the Sprint this month. I had just finished repairing and aligning the old rig and this was a good work out that let me know it needed to go on the bench for another try.
KN2G - I was portable in south west New York state this time. I only got the last hour in. The conference center is a rustic retreat in a tiny valley about 1 mile long and 1/2 mile wide. I was in the bottom in--a hollow to boot! The Buddipole was clamped to a wooden lawn chair over soggy clay. Thanks to KB2GKC,AC1KV AND N8HWV and others for valiant attempts to copy me. BUT I LANDED 5!!! I am tickled pink. Till next month, 72
VE3IIM - 20 was in good shape this month. Nothing here on 80m..
W9DWR - Thanks to all for the contacts! Enjoyed making a couple of difficult ones.
WA2FBN - Bands fairly quiet. XIEGU X5105 @5w using PUTIKEEG paddle with dipole at 25ft. TNX to all who copied my signal. 72 Ken
AK3X - Conflict with the 40 meter QRP fox hunt and other interruptions so only got to play in the sprint for 8 minutes. Still fun anyway.
N9EEE - Remote Radio using RemoteTX and CW Hotline to IC-7300 at 5 watts. Signals were good on 20m and 40m. I S&P only tonight for an hour. 73 all...see you next month.
W2SH - 20m was open with QSOs possible over medium distances. This sprint coincided with the last 40m Fox Hunt of the winter season and I spent most of my time there in what later turned out to be a
futile chase after the one Fox who was reachable in my skip zone.
AA2VG - Glad to jump in for a while.
N3CAA - Good CONDX on 40m. Searched and pounced for an hour or so, then called CQ for the last 20 minutes. Should have called CQ earlier, because I got most of my contacts in those last 20 minutes. TNX for the QSOs and looking forward to next month's contest.
N5GW - KX3 to doublet. All contacts on 20M which was in great shape. I listened on 40M before QRT, but it sounded noisy from central USA storms.
