SOAPBOX:
WD4OHD - My 80m and 40m dipoles are down at the moment, but I managed to make one QSO on the 20m vertical (with KF7Z...Thanks, Danny). Hope to be back in business for next month's Sprint.
K3RLL - Not much heard on 20m but found the party on 40m tonight but someone spiked the punch with some serious QSB! Signals would go from 599 to nearly nothing, and sometimes back. Need some Dramamine! Kudos to KO4TFE and others for sticking with it in heavy QSB for the contacts. Thank you. 72, ... Don
DK1VD - start today was better than in january no signals heard in DL in january
today many signals were loud from US
KC3RN and N4MJ could hear me in fast QSB thanks to both of them
NF8M - Op time abt 30 min. Quiet band on 40 but weak sigs from some that are usually strong. Nothing heard on 80. Tnx qsos es 72
VE3HUR - S9+10 noise tonight. Thanks to WB9HFK for the QSO.
KN1H - Tonight we are camped in a Maricopa County Park just outside of Phoenix, AZ, a beautiful place but with lots of local noise so receiving was very difficult. Always an enjoyable challenge to get a station on the air with no way to plan ahead! Used the KX2 on a 12V battery, KY 605/U straight key, and a 24' end-fed wire. 72, John, KN1H/7
KA6J - Tough conditions tonight in So Cent TX. Few contacts on 20 before the band died, 40 meters very noisy here. Thanks all for the sprint! Used QCX plus with a ground mounted vertical on 20 and dipole on 40. See ya next month!
KK4ITX - Started on 20 RBN hits galore 900+ miles out but no takers. Appeared to be lots of action on 40m and picked up 2 for the Gipper. Thanks K4BAI (GA) and NQ2W (NY), AF4PX and I tried hard but couldn't complete the QSO. Happy make two!!
K9QEW - 40m OPS only. Band seemed to be in fair shape. Good activity.
72/73s & STAY TUNED Daryl
K7EK - Lots of activity this evening. Slim pickings the last half hour. 40m started going long so finished up on 80m. See you next month.
AF4PX - 40M was great tonight, nice to work Mark on 40 and 80M. Always nice to hear from you John K4bai
KN2G - Another search and pounce night only. It is evident that the only way to score very high is to do at least some calling. I heard N0TA on 20 but only worked him on 40. Local conditions were challenging on at least half the exchanges. I always appreciate the effort each op makes. The bands yielded several calls that I have not worked before. That in itself is worth the band surfing. As always, a great way to spend a couple hours!
K2OID - I operated from Georgia this month rather than from New York. I think I surprised some "regulars". Heavy local QRN shut me down after first hour. Still had fun. see everyone next month.
W4CMG - Fun event! I had to keep remembering to send my NA number instead of starting to send my SKCC number after this weekend's Sprintathon - until muscle memory kicked in - OOPS!!! I DID get it right - just took a couple of false starts :)
KI8FV - Another wonderful time, I haven't done this for a couple of months. My wife keeps me busy. But I hope to be in next month. Had a great time using my bug tonight.
N4MJ - Good evening of fun! Apologizes for several keying errors on my part. Discovered a piece of metal had somehow gotten lodged in the keyer. Was same color as the keyer so just didn't see it for a while. Had me wondering if my CW abilities were failing. HI HI
Quit early to chase Foxii. Yeah, dual events tonight. Only got one of the Foxii, the one in AZ. Strange I worked multiple GA stations in the Sprint but could not her the GA Foxii. Prop Princess at work I suppose. 73 de n4mj
NQ2W - Late start but still managed to get 2 Qs on 20! Sigs on 40 and 80 were plentiful and kept me busy. Thanks for the calls. Thanks to the NAQCC folks for the opportunity to play radio in a fine sprint! I hope to hear you all next month. 72, Will, NQ2W
VE3DQN - Always fun. At first I thought the noise level would be too high, and the QSOs would be few. But 40m was long, and I got several from GA, TN, KY. I even got John N0TA in CO. Finished off the evening with a few on 80m just before 0330Z.
W4NLT - That was fun. Got one on 20M and the rest on 40M and 80M. Thanks to N0TA and K4BAI for two bands. Thanks to all for the QSOs.
72 Andy
K6GPB - Started out the evening in CA hearing east coast stations on 20 but that surprise quickly faded away before I could make any contacts. The rest of the evening had very little activity at this end. As always glad to participate for you never know what surprises may show up.
WG8Y - Hi all, Ran my K2 at 5W tonite into 10-80 OCFD, 50ft at the apex.
20M was open at the start.Wrkd CO, WY, & AZ then nothing. Made 4 Q's on 40M then checked back on 20M and picked up KA6J with a nice signal from TX. Went back to 40m and got 7 more in the log. Had checked 80M a couple times but it seemed down. Finally went to 80M at 03:07Z. Didn't hear anyone. Decided to call and Wow! Wrked 12 Q's in the next 20 min. I must have been in the sweet spot. Hi Hi Several great signal Too. Fun stuff.
72 all from N.C. Mark WG8Y
WX4RM - Good signals out there tonight. Got to work out to the west, WY and OR and CO and TX. Thanks to all that heard my peanut whistle signal, had fun as always.
NO2D - Worked the Fox Hunt first then NAQCC. After 4 contacts started QSO with a Wisconson station. He was not working the sprint, but it was the most interesting rag chew QSO that I have had in a long time. We went past the end of the sprint. Pete, NO2D
N9JFZ - Started with a couple contacts on 20 then went to 40 where I found more activity.
72, N9JFZ Rusty
KF7Z - Great signals tonight, plenty of activity early, Elecraft K3s dialed down to 5w to a 20 meter dipole up 25 ft.Thanks to everybody that answered my CQ and to the organizers 72 Danny
KC3RN - Tough conditions tonight, but managed to squeeze out 10 Q's.
K4KRW - I didn't get much time. Bands seemed quiet to me. Thanks everyone! Richard
KE5YUM - No contacts for the second sprint in a row, most likely from poor atmospherics. Hopefully conditions will improve in March. 73 from the mountains of western Arkansas. Terry
W4ZIP - My first sprint. Listen mostly.
N3CAA - First NAQCC sprint with the FT-710 I lugged back from Japan in December -- glad I remembered to turn down the PWR to 5 watts! Lots of QSB and QRN, so not a lot heard. Called CQ for a while and AF4PX called back but no others. All other contacts were S & P. Hopefully better conditions next month. TNX es 72, Corey
W8GG - Hello Fellow Sprinters! I found 20m dead abt an hour before the sprint so i started out on 40m. Heard plenty of NAQCC peepers , but many didnt hear me. After pounding some CQs wid no callers, i turned in early. I did manage a couple QSOs wid NN3E Kevin, es N4MJ Glenn, so at least someone heard me. Wouldnt want to get Skunked ! hee hee 73's until next time. Gregg W8GG
N2ESE - High noise and QSB here in NNJ only 2 qso's in first hour then gave UP!! 73 Gary
K3JZD - 40m was long here, with QSB and noise. 80m was noisy. Neither was a surprise. In spite of that, it was another enjoyable event with old friends and some new friends. K4 running 4.9 watts, 40m dipole and a 107' bent EFRW for 80m. 72, Jody - K3JZD
KA2KGP - 20 m. was nil but 40 & 80 were weak here in WNY. Rig: IC-7000 at 5 w. into a G5RV up 25 ft. w/ straight key. Keep warm out there & CU next NA Sprint. 73
K4BAI - Only NAQCC signal heard on 20 was N0TA. 40 and 80 in pretty good shape, but skip zone on 40M went long pretty soon after the start. Thanks for all QSOs. Please plan to QSY to 80 when thee are no new ones left to work on 80. We can do them all over again on a new band. Thanks for all QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
KO4WFP - I hadn't used my bug in nearly 2 months so I put it to use this evening. Thank you to all those who contacted me and the NAQCC for these monthly sprints!
W6IRA - Caught the band closing to the east :<)
WA2FBN - PENNTEK TR35 at 5w into EFHW sloper. Palm straight key. TNX to all who make these sprints possible. 72 Ken
WT4U - Wasn't hearing as many stations tonight, but for some reason I had a direct line to PA on 40m.
W2SH - At the start of the sprint I tuned up on 20m and the only signal heard was N0TA at good strength. Despite many attempts I failed to catch him. I left the sprint and tuned up on 40m to participate in the 40M Fox Hunt where I found both Foxes, located in AZ and GA with fully readable signals. I spent an hour chasing the GA Fox with no luck, so I tuned up on 80m for the final quarter hour of the NAQCC sprint
and logged three easy QSOs.
N2TNN - Short time available
KC3MIO - Put my new/old Argonaut 509 on the air with 4-5 watts and 288' loop. The 2.4 KHz filter was a bit wide but a good outing nonetheless. Nothing on 20, but turned to 40 and 80 was the band. Thanks to all my contacts - 73/72 Rich
VE3IIM - 40M was poor here...usually my best band...still had fun..
AK3X - Fun sprint but kept getting interrupted. 72 to all.
N5GW - Raining tonight - after a rumble of distant thunder, it's time to pull the plug!
WA1GWH - Not very many ops heard on 40m during 9-10 EST when I was on. Thanks for the contacts and 72!
