SOAPBOX:

WD4OHD - Only time for a few QSOs tonight. A good bit of QSB on 40m. Propagation wasn't great on 40m or 20m. No antenna available for 80m. Fun as usual, however. Hope conditions may be better for the upcoming mW Sprint. Best holiday wishes to all.

KA8HDE - Was able to get my new (to me) Elecraft K2 on the air which was from my friend Mert W0UFO. It worked great - thanks for those of you who responded to my CQs and got his K2 fired up again. 72 de chuck ka8hde

W3IPA - Only had time to make 1 QSO. Used the MTR3Bv4 tonight.

K9NUD - Very similar to last month. 40M was good for about 50 minutes but faded fast. 80 had higher noise but good signals. Several 2-band QSOs tonight. Thanks all!

W5WMQ - This was the first sprint I have participated in. I am usually working at this time. Had a blast.

WB1GYZ - I usually don't get west of the Mississippi, but tonight worked two KS stns.

DK1VD - last contest in 2024 was hard to work but worked WG8Y out of long QSB was fun in this year to participate and to all mxmas have a good start in to 25

KE3V - All in all an nice night for radio. I found no activity on 20m, so moved to 40m. Made a few contacts there and thought maybe 80m would be hopping. For some reason the 80m dipole wouldn't tune up. Still had a good time. -72

KD0V - Thanks everyone for the contacts. I was finally feeling good enough to give it a try this evening. Nothing major going on, just old age. Thanks again - Merlin

K4KRW - Conditions here were not good at all. I heard very few signals. Thanks to everyone I did get a contact with. 73 Richard

W6WU - Had to quit early, nearby lightning. Had a flash outside the window when in QSO with Dean N2TNN. Thanks for the fun!

K3RLL - 20m sounded like someone pulled the plug but pretty nice evening on 40m with lots of signals and good copy 2x even on weak ones. Nice! Had so much fun that I came back to it later on and, of all things, make a few more nice contacts including #0106! Thanks for the fun. 72, ... Don

WG8Y - HI all, No 20m here tonite. Went to 40m Didn't seem like there was as much activity as normal.Went up & down the band a few times than called a few times. Had DK1VD call me. That was cool. Tnxs Fred. Did work 5 Q's on 80M before I pulled the plug at 10PM /300Z. Anyway, Ran my K2 at 5w into OCFD @ 50ft. Tired but had fun. See everyone in the QRPp Sprint next week. 72 From N.C. Mark WG8Y

KN1H - Operated tonight from a campground in Abilene, TX, a busy area with lots of audible and RF noise and just room enough to put out 24 feet of wire which the KX-2 tuner was able to match on 40M. Thanks to all for the QSOs! Hope to see all next week in the QRPp, from NM if all goes well. Battery operated KX-2, ElectroVoice KY-605/U straight key.

KF7Z - Always a fun sprint, 20 died off at about 1:15z but was pretty busy until then, East coast had good signals in WY tonight. Running a Elecraft K3s dialed down to 4.9w to a 20 meter dipole up 25ft.Thanks for the Qs 72 Danny

NO2D - Tuesday night and the 40 meter Fox Hunt was on along with the NAQCC. More than once I fed an NAQCC member my fox hunt exchange, but then quickly recovered, but very embarrassed never the less. Always fun and thanks to those who make it possible. Pete, NO2D.

VE3DQN - Vry high noise level this evening.

N2DGQ - Not much in the way of on-air activity at my QTH tonight. C U next month.

N2TNN - Started good but the band crashed and not much out there. Happy New Year

N4MJ - Late start. Quiet 40m band and not a lot of activity. Only one worked on 80m, it was fairly quiet also. Coincided with the 40m Winter Season Fox Hunt. Got one pelt from the fox in RI. The other Fox was too close to work on 40m. Anyway, good time. Merry Christmas to ALL 73 de n4mj//glenn

KN2G - It was a challenging night! 20 sounded like an fm radio, but I got 4 clear signals before hitting 40. It was messy and challenging but satisfying. Sorry to Don, K9DRP for my keying meltdown! I did much better on our second contact on 80. I got several two band catches tonight. Still hoping for that elusive 3 band sweep! The milliwatt sprint is next week. Almost better than Christmas itself.... C U THN!

WB0CJB - Good sprint tonight although some stations I just couldn't pull out of the noise, even with both preamps on. Thanks to all of you who patiently worked with me as I tried to pull your call out. Murphy was in cahoots with QSB tonight. 73 es Merry Christmas to all.

K9DRP - Busy night with both the sprint and the fox hunt!! Nothing on 20, a long band on 40, and very noisy on 80. But lot's of good signals. My apologies to the couple I couldn't pull out on 80. KB3ITQ, I expect you to have a member number by next month, HI HI. Hope to catch everyone next week in the mW sprint! Merry Christmas

WX4RM - Nice slow paced sprint for me tonight. Managed 1 QSO on 20m with CO before band closed up, was hoping to hear more West Coast stations since propagation was long. Good signals on 40 and 80. Had fun as always.

NA4O - I heard no one on 20M. Sigs on 40M were generally weak with QSB. But always a good nite for QRP CW! 5W, KX3, Vibroplex Straight Key.

W4NLT - Good to hear the QRP faithful. Got 2 on 20M and the rest on 40 and 80. Lot of QSB on 40. For a while thought I would work all GA because of the strong sigs from there. Thanks for the QSOs. 72 Andy

K8NGW - A few QSO's on 20. A few more on 40, and a few more on 80. All in all a nice slow paced sprint. See all you milliwatt'ers next week!

KI8FV - Another wonderful time. I got a couple on 40 and one on 20. Then wasn't hearing much so I went to 80 and that seemed to be where all the activity was. For the first time ever in any Sprint I spent part of the time calling CQ and got three. I'll try calling CQ more the next time. Thanks for the Sprint these are great.

AA5LH - 40M quite noisy tonight + QSB. Almost pulled the switch early. Yet, the challenge is always there. Pulled out more than expected which kept me at the key. Hope to see many next week. Take care + 73/72's

NF8M - Op time about 45 min. I had my FT-818 out earlier in the day so I thought I'd fire it up for the sprint tonite. The 818 puts out about 6-7 watts on full so I dialed the power back one notch which gave about 4.8 watts. The 500 hz filter wasn't narrow enough to get rid of some of the QRM but managed a handful of Qs. 20 meters was dead here, and 80 was way too noisy (S9+) on the transmit antenna so 40 was it. Tnx qsos & see you next week in the mw!

W8GG - Hello fellow Sprinters ! Gud nite fer the sprint. 20 was open nicely at the start and seemed like alot of activity although some sigs were weak.20 died out in abt 1/2 hr and 40 was hoppin ! lots of peepers on 40m. wanted to stay longer ,but i had a busy day es ran out of gas. Had to QRT early. I did work some low member numbers that i dont usually hear, so that was a nice treat. Also worked 2 non-members who i hope will soon join our ranks. Hope to hear many of u in the mw sprint. 73 ,Gregg W8GG

VE3IIM - worked some new ones..good fun..

WA2FBN - Bands seemed pretty quiet. Always fun to work sprint. Used my LNR LD-5 with my Te-Ne-Ke paddle into an EFHW sloper. 72 Ken

KB2GKC - Thanks for the contacts....K9NUD, K4CHT,WB0CJB, WX4RM and K3RLL . Nice to get into FL on qrp 40m (K3RLL)

K4JPN - Tried 20M, but only got N0TA, band was open, where was everybody? 40M and 80M were hopping. 72, Steve K4JPN

KD3CA - Many Tnx to all for the call's. Condition's here QSB at time's. Only 1 station KF7Z worked on 20 mtrs rest on 40 and 80 mtrs. 73's to all Don

K4BAI - 20M was very long and only signal on whole CW band I could hear was N0TA in CO. Worked him a second time on 40. 40M was also long and made no QSOs closer than FL and VA. 80M had no skip zone and finally got my GA mult there at the last minute. 80M was quite good with QSOs out to NJ and PA, so we should plan to go to 80M for the last part of the sprints for the next several months, at least. I always like to go to 80 near the end to pick up the more local stations and mults. 73/72, John

N8LA - KX-3; 5W; 200 Ft. Dipole Up 35 Ft.; NAQCCode Warrior with W8GG finger pieces wired as dual paddle side swiper by AD0BI. Nothing doing on 20 and 80. QRN and some QRM on 40 but was able to work 8 stations. Thanks to all who worked me and apologies to all I was unable to copy. I believe I have discovered why I lost presidential election as IDIOT Party candidate. I asked voters to vote for me by writing in IDIOT. Finally realized that that name could apply to any and all of the candidates! HAPPY HOLIDAYS to ALL of YOU!! Lou, N8LA

KA2KGP - A good NA Sprint. only 2 on 20m. but both 40 & 80 were good here in WNY. CU on the mW Sprint. 73

WT4U - Surfing the QSB for this one. A little action on 20m. Lots on 40m, but a 579 station would drop away into the noise by the time he got to his NR. Thanks for hanging in there. 80m was steadier, but not as much business.

AA0W - Poor conditions only 40 meters was open. Thanks to all for the fun sprint

K9EYT - 20 seemed dead in Fl (Tampa Bay ) , 40 was ok , This was my first snowbird sprint just got the wire up , Icom 706mk2 remote antenna tuner 5 watts 72 Ray

AK3X - Missed the first hour and got called away after 5 minutes. Still fun. Some day I will get a full two hours in the sprint. 72 and Happy Holidays.

KK4ITX - S5-S9 QRM with Xmas lights, TVs or whatever.... the Snowbirds are back. Usually quiets down some after the holidays. My apologies to any that may have answered my CQ on 20m or 40m, I heard no one ;(

KC3MIO - Interesting conditions. KX3 w 5 watts into 125' doublet up 45'. I worked 7 GA stations, 6 TN and four IL. I also worked NRs 9, 30, 56, 106 and 368; also 11624,11098, 11821 and 11561, so it was new and old. Two contacts in CO, one in KS and one in TX. Nothing on 20, but 40 and 80 were good. Special thanks to WU0A for hanging in there to complete the QSO - it was tough. 73/72 and hope to CUAGN in the Mw sprint next week. Rich

W2SH - The only signal heard on 20m just before the band closed was N0TA, at good strength and easily worked. 40m was less active than 80m where I made most of my contacts.

KN4EG - I heard a lot of noise tonight and was hard to hear many. I'm looking forward to the next sprint in January.

N5GW - Only heard/worked one QRPer on 20M (KF7Z). A few static crashes on 40M. I usually don't try 80M till about 15 min. remaining, but due to my age I can't stay up past 9PM local!
