KB8FE - 40 meters had quite a bit of static in northern Ohio. Nice to hear the many stations that participated in the sprint! AA9L - Conditions not that great. Many CQ's but not much return. Better luck next time. W4HH - 40 was wide open here next to the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. Loud signals, lots of QRN. Had a great time, lots of activity. CU all next time!! NJ4V - My first sprint - had a blast - 72/73 Dan Scukanec NA4O - Just for something different, used 1.5W instead of the usual 5W. Turned out to be a good nite for it. Nice conditions on 20 and 40. K3WWP - I had some fun tonight. Overall it was slow, but I had a couple of nice runs of 10 or so QSOs in a row. Kind of feast and famine alternating, I guess you could say. Thanks to Jean VE2ZA for his hard effort to work me. I couldn't quite pull him through the first time. I'm glad you came back at the end for my last QSO and one added multiplier. That was fun also. I now have a wireless home network and it was nice to just copy my GenLog files from my shack computer to my main computer instead of using a flash drive as a messenger. Thanks to all for the QSOs. Hope to work more of you in June. W3NCR - Lots of QSB on 20M hr but also some solid 5NN sigs. Appreciated the chance to give the new A123 battery (which just arrived today) a test run with the KX3. I was using my YouKits HB1B and putting out about 4W into the end fed dipole in the attic. 20M was good and 40M was excellent as I heard a lot of NAQCC stations tonight. But, some are just far to fast for me decode, particularly in the sprint to the finish line in the last 30 minutes. I really enjoy the sprints, but it would be nice to have a slow code NA sprint watering hole for some of us slower folks. See you all next month. 72 - Mike W7GAH - Worked 20 tonight. 40 & 80 QRN. 20 seemed long at start with east coast weak, nothing else. Later band was spotty with some strong signals. Sorry W5IQS, I think you replied to my call but you faded immediately and I lost you with only a couple of minutes to go. N4MJ - Second round of the Sprint for me. Summer QRN is a killer, even on 20. Did not try other bands because of QRN. NE Ops were banging in off the back of the antenna like there were in next room. K9EYT - Worked first hour on 20 meters not bad then moved to 40 meters with S9 QRN almost every QSO was tough, storms moving in tonight. This sprint is always a challenge that's what makes it worth the time spent pounding brass and not watching TV . 72 Ray K9EYT AC8AP - It had been quite a while since I played in the sprint and I had a lot of fun again. I decided to change the feed for my loop from coax/balun to 450 ohm ladder line. I started at 7:15PM and finished up about 8:20 PM just in time for the sprint. It seemed like it helped with the receive as hoped. There were a couple that were hard to get out of the QRN but they kept working with me and we got it in our logs - THANKS for the repeats. N5NK - Storms in the area, band sure was noisy. Not complaining--we really NEED the rain. My apologies to those stations that I could just tell were in there calling me but I just couldn't dig them out. A two-hour sprint is just about the right length; if it ran any longer even I couldn't read what I was transmitting! Great job one and all! KG3W - Had company but wanted to put in an entry. I did check 40 fer a bit, but it seemed vy busy, es the filter between the ears was getting weak. Hi. Used the Ten Tec Argo 509 agn, es had a great time working old friends es a few new ones too. Gregg N8XMS - After making 22 QSOs it seemed like just about everyone that I could hear was someone that I had already worked. So I decided I would call it quits after 25 Qs. It took me more than 30 minutes to work those last 3 stations! WB8ENE - Rig is K3, and key is Begali Blade. I'll have to pull out the K1 and Bencher straight key for one of these sprints. Made most of my contacts on 40 as usual. Quite a few strong signals on 40 this time. Can't wait until I retire so I can stay up for the entire sprint. Thanks for the contacts. 73, Art AA2VG - I had fun. I was able to download and use GenLog which worked well. Unfortunately the Sprint was competing with the semifinals of American Idol so I was running back and forth from the shack to the TV room watching with the XYL. 73 AA2VG K1IEE - Bands seemed pretty good tonight. Little QRN on 40M so it was a good place to start. Last hour 20M got better and finished the sprint there. QRP OPs are the best . Thanks to all. 73 Dick KE5YUM - Conditions were crowed on 20, but good QSOs anyway. Thanks to all who worked me. Terry KA2KGP - Another nice sprint. Bands were in good shape here in WNY. Rig: Ten Tec Argosy II at 5w. into 5 band dipole up 25 ft. w/ straight key. AB9YC - I had some local QRM to start, and conditions deteriorated as time passed. I had a good time, just couldn't hear much. Silver log, here I come! KB0ETU - K-2 with dipole up 35 feet. 80 meters was completely dead, 40 meters had so much QRN that couldn't make out anyone. 20 meters started nice and quiet but deteriorated rather quickly. I was surprised that my last two contacts from Colorado could hear me. But I seemed to have a "pipeline" direct to New York State. Thanks to the stations that could almost hear me and stayed with me to complete the contact. Band conditions were not the best, but still fun. 72, Phil K2GLS - Thunderstorms in the area made copy a bit harder on 80 and 40. Conditions on 20 were good but there could have been more activity. A fun time again 72, 73 to all. WA1GWH - Heavy continuous static crashes here near Syracuse, NY. Nice to see the good turnout despite that. Propagation on 40 seemed quite good. N9KR - Stayed on 40. QRN but lots of good signals also. 73 to all. K1YAN - 20 meters lasted about 45 minutes and then QSB with signals there and then gone. 40 meters in pretty good shape for last hour. VE3FUJ - QRN and static crashes were heavy to-nite and had to ask for a lot of repeats, so after 45 min's the noise got to me and I had to QRT. Thanks to all I contacted that bore with me. VE2ZA - First CW contest ever, celebrating my return to ham radio after a 10-year hiatus. CW is like swimming or riding a bike: one never quite forgets. Thanks to K4ORD for true sportsmanship & patience. Working John K3WWP was the icing on the cake as last QSO. I'll definitely be back for more. VE5BCS - The band was very noisy tonite tnx to all. wx4rm may be in the log lost him in the noise. K4ZGB - Very noisy for me on 80 & 40. N4SX - I raised my antenna up another 5 feet or so since my last Sprint. I missed last month and it was good to be back in there this time. Signals were strong on 20, ok on 40, and poor on 80. I worked two non-member stations who would never give me their power, and both would have been multipliers!! One even wanted to ragchew, and neither picked up that I was calling CQ NA. All said and done.....LOTS of fun. I had a great time and thanks to all you guys out there who made this possible. 72 Randy N4SX KQ1P - Got home late from a track meet and spent a few fruitless minutes on 20, but found success on 40. Needed to get a couple of QSO's in for the sprint. K4BAI - Good activity. Fair band conditions. Thanks for all QSOs. QSO by band: 20M 38. 40M 20. 40M had a lot of QRN and made no QSOs on 80. Hope to meet a lot of you in Dayton next week. 73/72, John, K4BAI. W2JEK - Got on late. Only heard weak signals on 20. Went to 40 for 19 qso and then to 80 for 5 qso. Conditions seemed good but a little noisy on 80. Rig Yaesu FT-840 at 5 watts. Signal electric straight key. Had lots of fun. 72 and 73 Don Younger W2JEK # 1135 K4JPN - Tried several times on 80M and nothing heard, worked one station on 40M. 20M was heavy QRN, but worked few there. 72, Steve K4jpn W1OH - My token submission for 1 contact - started late then got foolishly distracted chasing the DX in South Sudan. N8BB - KX3 working nicely, now have to get more free time to play more. W5IQS - Fun Sprint. 20 was plagued by QRN during first hour but quieter during second hour. No attempt at 80 but tried 40 without response. I missed 3 or 4 stations due to QRN Sorry. I logged W7GAH at 0224 but never heard his QSL for my exchange. Hope to be back next month. KU4A - Storms got out of here just in time. 40 was in good shape. W2SH - Thank you John, K3WWP, for having this sprint a week earlier and enabling my first-time May participation before going to Dayton, and of course attending QRP ARCI's FDIM there. 20m had lots of activity, though the skip was fairly short, as it was also on 40m. 80m had very little activity. NW2K - I experimented with the two radio technique, which is outside the rules (checklog). I apologize for my mistakes and short transmissions. Conditions were fantastic up here. With one radio I would have made a personal best for sure (maybe 80 QSOs) but the second radio slowed me down! Thanks for the fun! NQ2W - Ten-Tec Jupiter @ 5W to a mini beam at 25' for 20 and an inv V at 40' for 40. Survivor! was on so I started a half-hour late. 20 was hopping and I was able to make 16 Q's there. Switched to 40 at around 0200 UTC and was privileged with 13 more Q's. I find it interesting that I had no doubles. Lots of signals were quite strong. Great conditions on both 20 and 40. I wonder how many NAQCC'ers use http://ham.jit.su/naqcc during the sprint...it's a pretty cool tool and I highly recommend it. Thanks for all the contacts. Hopefully, I'll hear you all again next month. 72, Will, NQ2W K2YGM - Listened on 40 for a min or so and the QRN and band noise was discouraging. KE7YTE - QRN continually got worse. Storms to the north of AZ. Started on 20M making most of my QSOs. Then switched to 40M getting only one QSO. Forced to quit early. Still was a good fun evening. AK3X - DSW-40 at 3W to inverted vee. 40 meters was good during the 20 minutes or so I had to play. Good to work John, K3WWP. See you all next month. 72 Peter AD7TN - Even though I missed the first hour and made only 5 QSOs, I was happy to be able to participate Sprint 5 consecutive month this year. KC2VBU - Departed from my usual S&P method and called CQ a number of times and yikes right there waiting (so it seemed)was K1IEE...for 1st entry and then on to my best effort to date....doesn't seem like much compared to the champs out there but I was smiling! Stayed on 40 most of the time and closed out on 80(had to get my buddy W2JEK, other side of town) for 3 more. Great fun as usual! VE3HNE - Had hoped to do better but was late getting on and just made one contact and the xyl came home.
