Bob and his wife Barb live in a bungalow near the Ottawa River in Canada's capital city, Ottawa, Ontario. Licensed in 1966, he was not active for many years until the summer of 2005. Since that time he has been busy putting up simple wire antennas and operating QRP mainly in contests to improve operating and CW skills. Bob finds that CW is a good way to balance off the demands of his job as an independent financial planner and life and insurance broker. Prior to his current job he was a sessional lecturer in religious studies at universities and colleges in Montreal. He is currently building the Elecraft K2 and learning modern new construction techniques in the process. He is a member of the ARRL, RAC, QCWA, FISTS, and QRP ARCI. But he says his favourite is definitely the NAQCC.
