All my gear is portable and my favorite operating mode is "Sitting Around a Campfire". I will often make a contact a 10 watts and reduce to QRP levels. Although I'm retired, I still enjoy day hiking, biking, and kayaking. I once contacted the Russian MIR Station sitting in a cow pasture near Charleston WV. I've always thought operating portable is one of the most enjoyable ways to enjoy radio. I enjoy working QRP and Special Event stations. 73
